I was actually going nuts for awhile since the org helps my day go quicker here at the office. Luckily, OWB saved me. Whew! "When words fail, music speaks..." --- Shakespeare

Dude, I heard my storm door open then I watched the handle on my back door turn. I was standing in the hallway with nothing for protection. My immediate response was to go up to the door and kick it as hard as I could to try and show some kind of aggression. I didn't know what else to do. Then I called the cops. Scared the shit outta me. And then the murder. Ugh. YIKES! That was crazy. It is funny that you mentioned kicking the door because that is exactly what I did at my old place when I thought I saw someone moving around in there when I got home. I made my son go sit in the car and kicked the door in. There wasn't anybody there, but if there had been, what the hell was I gonna do? I wasn't armed with anything but a bad attitude. Same here....but believe me, I was frightened. Some people were like, "I wouldn't have gone near that door". But frig, I wanted to do something to appear tough even if I am not at all...that's certainly better than waiting for them to make their way in to find out that I had no way to really defend myself.

I read your experience (while the org was down, I checked out the other sites) and thought that what you did was probably the smartest thing, (and brave actually) instead of freezing up. To be honest with you, I think that your actions saved your life that night! I cringe to think what a close call that was. I'm glad you're still around! ![]()

But the whole Dan/Erin/Chris meet up looks like it was fun. Sorry to hear that. I too had a pretty scary experience along those lines this past weekend. I am lucky to be alive. oh no

I survived:)
But c'mon people, live with your times, embrace them, love them. Why feel so bad/guilty about being online? In 2008 online life is 'life'. Experiences in the online world are as real as in the offline one. Otherwise, by your logic, the Neanderthals had much more of 'a life' than we who are in virtual spaces have today.
