THIS IS A TRAVESTY!!! do not call registry doesn't even work these days. and i think legislation to block cell phone telemarketing is in the works. i always assumed cell phones were just automatically some kind of magical safe zone against telemarketing. i was wrong. and how DARE they call me back after i told them i wasn't interested! HOW DARE THEY! i'm gonna get all babs johnson on their ass if they try it again today, just wait and see.

that's happened to me a few times. it was some recording trying to sell me car insurance. there was this other recording that was calling me for awhile. They had this option where you could press '4' and get taken off of the call list. So i pressed '4' and they continued to call me. They called me 5 times within 10 minutes. Then there was this other strange call that was taking about credit card debt (I have none) and getting me a lower interest rate and that it was imperative that I do this RIGHT NOW. So I pressed whatever it was I had to press to talk to a live operator and when I got him on the phone I asked, "who are you trying to reach?" As soon as I asked that he hung up on me.

it was for stupid DAYS INN. i made the mistake of filling out a customer service survey when i got an online receipt from a vacation we went on earlier this year. i'm guessing that's why they decided it was time to harass me. i gave an unfavorable review, and some marketing genius must have said "OMFG anxiety didn't like our hotel! let's harrass him on his cell phone until he likes us again!" brilliant.

I got a telemarketing call too, several times, something about a line of credit for some such reason or other. I got ticked off and called them during working hours, and told them to take me off their list and to please stop calling me. So far, they have not called me back. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I've gotten those too. One tried to sell me REAL ESTATE. I'm a poor college-aged student writer. Just how can I afford to start dabbling in houses and such?

I only got one telemarketer call on my cell phone a long time ago, and I keep thinking it went to voicemail and this woman left a message instead. She kept complimenting me on my voice...can't remember what she was selling lol.

how's someone going to sell you real estate over a cold call to someone's cell? what do they think you are going to say? "oh, actually i'm in line at target buying toilet paper and cold medicine right now, but i'm SO GLAD YOU CALLED because i was totally thinking of buying some real estate as soon as i'm done here!" dumbasses.

Well it just goes to show you...It's always something! Either you click on a crappy thread or days inn telemarketers are calling you and I didn't even know Days Inn could afford telemarketers. I mean have you been to a Days Inn? It's disgusting! I went to one in New Jersey (not sure why I was in New Jersey) and I thought I was gonna die! The bathroom alone looked like Hurrican Katrina and don't even get me started on the sheets on the bed. And they had cockroaches like this. They were so big I actually gave them names. First there was Bitsy cuz he was so little and then there was Mary and then who can forget Jimmy the biggest of them all. ANd they always travelled around like a little family you know like the tweedlebugs from Sesame Street! So just make sure if you're ever in New Jersey, don't go to the Days Inn. SPend a little more and go to the Holiday Inn over on Harvey Boulevard, I wish I had. Take it from me, or my name ain't Rosanne Rosannadana. [Edited 5/29/08 12:45pm] Christian Zombie Vampires

That's not true and kind of ignorant. ON SECOND THOUGHT: i've been thinking about it - 2freaky, why don't you orgnote me your phone number and if the telemarketers call me back, i'll tell them you'd love to have them call you and i'll forward your number on to them. that way, everyone's happy!

That's not true and kind of ignorant. From my experience, telemarketers are people who do it as either a 2nd job or are college students. [Edited 5/30/08 10:57am] **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-
