There sorta is. In Minnesota - Senator Paul Wellstone died (as you probably heard) and is being replaced by Walter Mondale. I have overheard that they expect (instead of the usual 70% turnout) an 80% turnout because of sympathy votes...so that's gonna be something interesting to watch.

Does Mondale win, or Coleman... confused

Have you seen that commercial that Mondale did? The looping is awful and he looks completely comatose. I thought he looked like he was very close to death. That commercial along with the "political rally" disguised as a memorial has convinced me to vote for Coleman (whom I don't much care for either).

Do you find it funny that nobody is talking about the tight race for Govornor although the Govenor position probably effects our (Minnesotan's) day-to-day lives greater then a Senator does?

Here in California our Democratic governor,Gray Davis,is up for re-election.If,as expected,he wins, they say he may try to run for President in 2004.I voted for him,but he's not THAT great a governor. It's just that his opponent,Bill Simon,is a total idiot. But you gotta pick the lesser of two evils, right? wink

That sounds like an exciting race. And I also heard that your governor,Jesse Ventura,is pissed at the Democrats for playing politics with this situation.Be sure to keep us informed on how this plays out smile

You know, lovemachine, that's the first thing I thought about, lol...Mondale looked like he would die before he filled the term too. biggrin (Not begin morbid, just stating my opinion).

YES!!! Not ONE person at the salon (and trust me LOTS of women come and go in that place) even spoke of the Governor's race! LOL... I too have NO CLUE what these guys are about... neutral

Folks like to get all emotional, and I guess the Senator's race is in the forefront!

biggrin

But of course. There's gonna be something to complain about, so I do my part and complain if I have to later on.

Don't vote? Don't complain.

If you don't much care for him, DON'T VOTE FOR HIM.
Although, I agree, Mondale looks close to death in the commercial. But that doesn't make Coleman the right person for the job. Yuck.

I still have no idea who I'm voting for for governor.

I voted... and although I disagree with the idea of voting straight-ticket, I found it refreshing to see an option to vote straight-ticket Libertarian.

I, of course, did not opt to vote straight-ticket, but BY GOD, the Libertarians are going to have our day!
