The Santa Clause or FRIDA? Which really is the true number one movie?

Those of you who know who Frida Khalo is, you MUST see this movie, for those of you who don't, read the book on her life and then see the movie!

As for Frida, and my theory...check this out...

The Santa Clause, made 29 million dollars...debuting at number 1

Frida made 1 million dollars...not making the top ten.

Here is the difference...and small movie companies that distrubute artsy movies like Frida want changed...to compare by how many movie theatres it is playing in.

The Santa Clause, opened on 3,350 theatres...
Averaging that out to $8,657.00 per theatre

Frida, playing at 47 theatres only...
Averaging out to a suprising $21,596.00 per theatre

Now, what really is the No. 1 movie?

Frida, expanding from the 5 theatres it was playing at last week to 47 this week (Meaning that when this movie comes out nationwide, which Miramax did NOT plan on doing but will at a date to be named later, it will just add theatres each week until it is in a higher demand nationwide, which basicaly is a cop-out by Miramax for not believing in the movie in the first place, delaying the movie from being released for over two years. Still, it will be opening to more theatres than originaly planned, thanks to us that showed support to a movie that was not fully supported originally by Miramax)

Of coarse I don't think if Frida opened in 3,350 theatres, that it would make the estimated per theatre draw of $21,596.00, which if it did, would mean Frida would have made 72 million dollars this weekend.

I just think that there should be at least a seperate box office for per screen average to determain a second number one...

Box office stats only, taken by Yahoo Finance. All other information, including per screen average and looking for info why Miramax does not support this film and other stats, reserched by Jeremiah Freed.

And exactly, why can't I get a job within the Industry with such useless facts as this?

Who do I have to blow/lick in this town to get a job I deserve?
