I've never voted. Don't you have to register far in advance? or can it be done shortly before the voting booths open?

I'm not sure if they modified the system so that you could register so close to the election. Usually you have already been registered for some time.

In Minnesota you can walk into the polling place and register on the spot the day of the election. All you need to do is go to the correct poling place and bring a state issued ID with your current address, or if your address has changed also bring a current utility bill addressed to you. If all else fails you can bring someone who is also registered in your district with to vouch for you. I think I registered last time I had my address changed on my license. Making registration convenient is probably one of the reasons Minnesota has a historically higher voter turnout than other states.

And yes! I voted today!! Just got back!

Yeah, they say the turnout is gonna be REALLY low and that's a shame. When our economy gets worse next year, you can blame it on the lazy folks who didn't bother to vote!

Okay Supa. I just voted.

I wrote in a Luddite candidate for State Comptroller, but otherwise it was strictly party line.

I don't know most of these idiots since I've been out of state for some time. But I'm sure they're a bunch of stand-up folks.

Don't let me down!

It's a circular sticker that says "I voted today!" with a little box next to it filled by a red check mark.

i must say that i had a blast voting this year...we got these wonderful computer touch screen booths...the people were friendly...we all laughed at a couple bush jokes (far enough away from the polling area)...

my favorite joke:

remember the last time a man listened to a talking bush? ended up walking in the dessert for 40 years... VOTE DEMOCRAT.. lol

and ice, no no no! shame on you...i voted down my party line and was proud of it.

And Super, something tells me your only following soundbites when you exclaim your dis-taste for Davis... Why do I support Gray Davis? Simple, this guy was willing to stick his neck and career on the line when Enron and Bush's bubs were charging us up the wazoo for energy...We were forced into black-outs...even when the courts proved that Enron *did* fix prices, Davis gets zero credit. Why? Because Californias *dont* research...couple that with the work Davis had done on Education and his attempts at balancing our economic issues and I must say he is doing a fine fine job..Sure he isnt charasmatic..Sure he campaigns a lot...

nobody seems to be holding fault with Bush for the same thing...This guy has spent more time raising money and on vacation at home..all during a supposed war on terror? the dude is a joke...
