Do you feed your kids "healthy stuff"?

A girlfriend of mine and her husband have always been healthy, but now are doing Weight Watchers together and the whole family basically eats what they cook on the program. They have also tighten their budgets, so they don't eat out a lot.

We took her and her three kids out to a Golden Corral type place for a quick meal. They had all the typical kids stuff, chicken fingers, fries, burgers.

Those poor kids got so sick! You may think the food was "bad", but I think those kids' systems aren't equipped for all that grease and crap.

It made me think, what is the American diet doing to our kids? We really do feed them a lot of shit. I don't have kids, but since all my friends do, I still feel them on this.

I know my sis feeds her son a lot of crap lol It's pretty normal for them to eat fast food, she has to threaten him to eat veggies... I think the bulk of his diet consists of processed chicken & sweet sauces confused

So yea, Americans are kinda programmed right now to fuck their kids UP b/c the adults are doing it themselves so they don't see it as poison, just as "food" sigh
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

There is a family that I know, all the girls are in their 20's,
they've eaten real food (unprocessed etc) and I remember when we went
to get a burger, one of the girls said that she could feel that burger
stuck and was messing her stomach up.
Also, I know I've tried to eat good for a time, but for the last few weeks,
I've been eating fast foods only and already I feel the difference, disbelief
not good.

My kids basically don't get any crap all week, no sweets nothing. for "dessert" they have yogurt. They eat a ton of fruit and vegies.

My sisters four kids eat very well, never really complain about veggies or fruit (and they do enjoy sweets) but it has been a case of just eating what has been served which is normally good home cooked food rather than chicken nuggets etc. The kids even ask for some fruit to snack on which is pretty amazing.

I've got my first child on the way so I am hoping it is just a case of not differentiating between good and bad stuff and just making fruit and veggies to be as tasty as sweets and not telling the kid "you must eat your greens" since when do kids do what you tell them?

We have a friend (a mum) who doesn't like much, so is often saying "i don't like that" etc, now her little 5 year old is saying much the same without actually tasting the food - just copying his mum

I'm telling you, if you raise them with the good stuff...they wouldn't know what the "bad" stuff was and wouldn't crave it as much.

My nephew and my niece almost went toe to toe at the dinner table for the last bits broccoli the last time I visited.

Most kids raised on that junk don't have a chance.

its a battle to get my rugrat to eat veggies...

but he loves my meat patties/rissoles- which i hide veggies in woot!

i tried that with spaghetti bolognase, but he knew hmm

i used to keep 1 kg tubs of yoghurt in the fridge- and theyd never get finished, just started buying individual tubs- and he helps himself yay!
seems that i was busy doing something close to nothing, but different than the day before music beret
