Yeah, you're best to stay away from Facebook if you're not too computer literate.

Hell, I'm fairly computer literate and it confused me lol

So would you say Ning is a combo of Tribe and Facebook? It sounds a LOT like Tribe, which is going the way of Friendster, IMO. And it's unfortuneate...I liked Tribe. I think the biggest issues they had was the way in which they rolled out new and terrible designs, added a lot more in your face advertising and stopped people from posting sexual content. There were also internal struggles.

It's very much like a combo of Tribe, Yahoo 360 and myspace.

Customizable ... you can pimp it out. And like the critic in that bigass post above about facebook says, it has the ability to set up relationships with folks that aren't just binary--more in line with real life social groups.

But the blogging and message board features are really really handy. And I like the interface.

No!! Don't tell Bob about Ning!!

Let him do that wiki thing...that ain't going nowhere anyway...

Im a big fan of ning. I LOVE it.
Hopefully, it'll become the new myspace. OWB is a ning message board, and I check that every day.

Sorry if I've 'overwhelmed' the thread, I just thought that guy made some good points. But I agree those 'experts' still have to master the art of the soundbite.

In short, it's about how Facebook offers a simplistic, superficial take on friendship, and tries to lock up its members in its own system.

And I hope you didn't toil through this all night:)..
