Have you seen Funny Games?

I saw the original a few years ago on cable. That's a movie I can never watch again so I saw no point in going to see the American remake.

I meant the Austrian one nod

I read the synopsis for both (they are pretty much the same, word for word) and will see neither. I don't see the point of stories like this. NOT MY THING.

woot! Austria rules biggrin .
Of course it was released last year over here and had already won a number of awards before it won the Academy Award this year. But according to your rules (and I have a lot of respect for your rules lol ) it is a 2008 film.

I like lots of rules because I have no imagination. neutral

None of the other movies nominated for best foreign film have been released here yet confused so between Beaufort and The Counterfeiters, The Counterfeiters should have won. lol

rolleyes Yeah sure fishslap.

It's from 2007 but I saw it last weekend.

Best thing I've seen in quite a while.

The Orphanage so far,

but

I think my fav is gonna be Kung Fu Panda or The Strangers
Say it's just a dream...
U open up ur eyes and come 2 realize
u simply imagined this
So u lean over and give her a kiss
Here on earth, here on earth,
with u it's not so bad
Here on earth, here on earth
eye don't feel so sad
Stay right here

'In Bruges' is my favourite so far. Brendan Gleeson is great as ever and Colin Farrell sobers up and remembers how to act! Throw in Ralph Fiennes and a great script and you've got a lovely little movie.

Unfortunately about 10 people in the US will see it because it was rated R.

"in bruges" has actually been one of the more hyped indie movies in the US so far this year. not that it's been a smashing success, but it hasn't been doing badly.

Oh good. It deserves the kudos. And it was made and marketed on a small budget so it doesn't have to break box office records to make money.

According to IMDB: 'The word 'f**k' and its derivatives are said 126 times in this 107-minute film, an average of 1.18 'f**ks' per minute.

So it's R-rated in the US and rated Over 16s in Ireland. If cursing was an Olympic event, we'd own it!

I definately haven't seen as many films this year that I've wanted to.. sad I still have to see Juno, Shine the Light, No Country for Old Men, Sweeney Todd, The Bucket , Sonic Mirror...(some of these are 2007 films, but they came to Finland in 2008..)

But so far this has been the best:

love love love love love love love love love love love love love love

I also liked:

This move had a real impact on me, not just emotionally, but physically too. I've never ever felt like the way I felt after the movie. My heart was racing, I felt like fainting and really disorientated.... sigh
Allow me to introduce: Ms. Onder and Mrs. Donk! (o)(o)
They now belong to BigBearHermy. heart
