christ, i just realized i haven't actually seen any films this year the local theater shows one movie (maybe 2) a week. yeah, it's, um.... "quaint" almost none of them are anything i'd be interested, and the ones that are... are gone so fast that i forget to go.
plus, i've been so disconnected from that sort of thing that i couldn't even really tell you what i'd want to see anymore, since i haven't been keeping up with what's coming out. the isolation and laid back atmosphere has its pros and cons, i guess. "Try to remember how you used to feel about me
and think about how you're treating me now. Then try to reconcile them, if you can. But you don't even remember, do you?"

The Darjeeling Limited was a dear film for me. I also really enjoyed the intensity of 'No Country For Old Men'. 'There Will Be Blood' was a stunning piece of work and Daniel Day Lewis's portrayal of Daniel Plainfield was one of the finest pieces of acting I've ever seen. I also though 'Juno' was sweet and amusing. I will be looking forward to seeing 'The Dark Knight' and of course, Indiana fucking Jones!!!! There's Joy In Expatriation.

A lot of good films I've seen this year like Michael Clayton, Persepolis and There Will Be Blood were released last year so I don't count those.
2008 movies I've seen: Beaufort The Counterfeiters The Other Boleyn Girl Penelope Iron Man Of those The Counterfeiters was the best.

2008 movies I've seen: Beaufort The Counterfeiters The Other Boleyn Girl Penelope Iron Man Of those The Counterfeiters was the best. Austria rules . Of course it was released last year over here and had already won a number of awards before it won the Academy Award this year. But according to your rules (and I have a lot of respect for your rules ) it is a 2008 film. With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

None of the other movies nominated for best foreign film have been released here yet so between Beaufort and The Counterfeiters, The Counterfeiters should have won.

That's a movie I can never watch again so I saw no point in going to see the American remake. spelling [Edited 5/17/08 10:26am]
