I have grown my own herbs for 20 yrs or more and we garden too

we have blueberries, strawberries and blackberries too

Herbs are easy to grow and you can do deck pot gardens thumbs up! nothing like grabing a fresh andfull while fixing dinner

I would ask a local garden center for advice about growing in your area

I'm thinking of doing a small hanging herb garden in my kitchen this year. nod I live in an apartment with a cat, so it's hard to find anywhere I can do it, but someone suggested a hanging pot would work nicely and keep kitty out of the herbs. smile

thumbs up! That is a grand idea and will work for sure

I have an herb garden and a small veggie garden. Our soil isn't the greatest, so I had my husband build me raised beds. It's really the way to go. You have to check your planting zone to find out what you can and cannot plant in your area.

This year, I'm using an organic tomato feed/fertalizer because the last few years I've had blossom end rot on my tomatoes.

Be sure to check out what heirloom veggie varietes are available. I plant Brandywine tomatoes every year. I love them!

The first picture is my herb garden. I put onions in there, but won't this year. It was too crowded.

The tomatoes got as tall as the fence!

those tomatoes look nice nod I don't grow anything right now. When I get a house I want to plant some tomatoes, greens, and few herbs but I guess it depends on where I live and how the soil is as dustysgirl stated

Here's a tip for all you tomato growers:

When the very first flower forms at the tip of the plant, pluck it off. This will help the plants become more bushy and less leggy.

nod

Pinching back (I'd get more aggressive than just the first bud) is a great way to ensure denser fruit. This is true for most flowering plants too.

I've only ever grown some rhubarb, tomatoes, peppers and strawberries (which the rabbits ate! mad lol ) but so worth it I find.

That's my only advice, watchout for rabbits.
