Do You Grow Your Own Fruit & Veg? I've been thinking about it for a while, but don't know where to start really (other than 'in the garden')
Do you grow your own ? Any tips or advice?

I have grown my own herbs for 20 yrs or more and we garden too we have blueberries, strawberries and blackberries too Herbs are easy to grow and you can do deck pot gardens nothing like grabing a fresh andfull while fixing dinner I would ask a local garden center for advice about growing in your area

I did when I lived in Florida (fruits & veggies). I am going to start again along with our neighbour. We have to perfect spot for a veg garden. So we are going to get the soil ready and probably start a proper garden with raised beds next year. He is growing all sorts of herbs at the moment and tomatoes. He is going to give me some tomato plants and I am going to start with those for now.
I know one thing..the soil is dark and hard here and filled with worms. It should be fairly easy to grow veggies. I just have to find out what likes to grow here.

I don't grow my own. I grow them for my employer. "Try to remember how you used to feel about me
and think about how you're treating me now. Then try to reconcile them, if you can. But you don't even remember, do you?"

grow my own tomatos and chile peppers, just use big pots from Wal Mart filled with miracle grow potting soil, works excllent.Last year I had over a 150 habeneras from just 2 plants.About 50 cayenne peppers from 1 plant and around 35-45 tomatos from just 2 lil plants that were purchased at Wally World ! This year I am doin' it all over again, but am also doin' ruhbarb and snow peas. Usually all ya have 2 do is decided what you wanna grow, decided what style of lighting it likes and maintain watering levels. Have fun and enjoy !!!
"Lifes a Garden_Dig It" PEACE.....It does not mean 2 be in a place where there is no noise, trouble,or hardwork. It means 2 be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart !

You mean summer is over already I can see why so many ppl here have green houses. I had one in Florida. I used to mainly to put the plants and flowers that were in pots to keep them safe when we had threats of bad weather. I used it in the winter as well but that only lasted 7 days in Florida.

I think this year may be not bad actually, last year wasn't that great but its looking good so far. Have you seen any of Jamie Olivers shows since you came to England? he's a tv chef who's keen on growing your own organic stuff.

I live in an apartment with a cat, so it's hard to find anywhere I can do it, but someone suggested a hanging pot would work nicely and keep kitty out of the herbs. |

I spent an hour yesterday looking for white tokyoplastic dolls, found loads of yellow ones but thought "no Carrie is looking for the white ones" gave up in the end. So anyways you owe me a lunch hour
