I have half a book of them left that I bought qa few months ago. I only ever mail one piece of mail a month (my rent). No one's getting my forever stamps, I tell you. NO ONE!

I've known people that have put two stamps on a piece of mail just to make sure the proper postage amount is covered. That's crazy. If there is any question in my mind, I go to the post office and find out exactly how much it costs. I'm not throwing away money like that.

i think you're right.

but let's say we're operating in a somewhat less sophisticated society and i loaned you a forever stamp.

would you be all, "oh crap, stamps just went up in price, i owe anx 60 cents!"

or would you be all, "i know these stupid stamps were only 45 cents when he bought them, if he thinks i'm going to give him a penny more he can just go screw himself!"

or maybe you'd give me a current priced stamp back as payment, but that would only be valid until the next time stamp prices go up, which has been pretty frequent here in the states lately. hence the demand for forever stamps.

well if it were me, I'd give you back what I could afford. I sure I would save up so I could give you the REPLAEMENT value of it, since with the original purchase value, you couldn't even get yourself a new one. I'm nice like that, you would probably also be invited over to my house for some soup.

would you expect the amount you PAID for the forever stamp or would you expect them to pay you the current USPS value of a stamp?

if they paid you the original price of the forever stamp, would you be upset? would you bring it to their attention? would you just keep quiet about it? would you judge their character?

i don't think this was taken into account when forever stamps were designed.

i'll have the forever stamps affixed to my urn and mailed to a pomegranate orchard where they will spread my ashes, so that whenever someone has a pom frapp in the future, they'll be guzzling down a little bit of anx.
