Well, if you were going to your prom and suddenly were denied entrance cause of the way you dress, you'd be pretty pissed too, I assume. Anyways, I think this could've and SHOULD'VE been handled differently.

She didn't get arrested for the dress she wore, she got arrested for acting a fool and getting into a screaming match with prom officials and refusing to leave the premises...you know, more like a disorderly conduct/disturbing the peace type of charge. It was still harsh punishment if you ask me, but we should at least be clear that she wasn't arrested for what she was "WEARING". twocents

She's just a kid, of course she's gonna get upset when they tell her she can't attend prom lol
Anyways, I think they should've handled this without the involvement of the police.

I just read the initial post, and watched the video without sound to see the dress she was wearing. Going to check the video w/ sound now lol

Ok, so it pretty much went down like I imagined it did. Admittedly, it was kinda stupid of her to NOT go home when offered the chance, but I can see why she was pissed. Putting her in handcuffs and arresting her seems very uncalled for.

Anyways, I think she should be able to wear what she wants, even if it the tackiest, skankiest piece of clothing she could find. What age do kids in America usually have prom? Are they 16? 17? 18? If she's 18 or something, then I think she should definitely be free to wear what she wants, as long as she doesn't show up naked or something. I think it's kinda ridiculous, but then again, a whole lot of Americans are very conservative so this doesn't surprise me one bit.

dude, alot of kids in this country are out of control...no respecect for parents, teachers, elders or themselves...so, in my opinion, they need to arrest alot more of their asses for stupid, disruptive behavior...
I mean, she had to know that dess wasn't gonna fly with the school, she had to...

and if she didn't, well...her bad...then to pitch a fit and refuse to leave when asked, well again...her bad....

Sorry, but for me that's too much titty to be showing at a prom. Proms are a semi-formal to formal wear event. In the still pictures I've seenof the dress the top fabric is pretty sheer, clearly exposing the nipples and areola. If you want to wear that to a public event with no formal dress code then fine, but the fact of the matter is she violated school dress code at a private school function. Again, that's too much titty to be exposing at a formal dance for teens.

Additionally, when you read the newspaper accounts of what happned, the girl was not simply disappointed. She refused to leave the premises, and got into it so hot and heavy with the prom officials screaming and cursing it nearly erupted into a physical altercation. Basically, she was about to start a fight and refused to leave the premises of an event she was denied access to because she chose not to follow the dress code that was outlined.

Do I think she should have been cuffed? Heck no. I think that even if someone panicked and called the police to prevent a beatdown from taking place, the police should have given her a verbal warning as a second opportunity to leave.

After a third warning...okay fine...you want to be grown up so much with your tits hanging out in public, cursing out elders, starting altercations and disturbing the peace and disrupting a private event...then you can sit your half-naked ass right in the back of a police car while you are escorted HOME to your parents.

I think arresting this girl is a bit over the top, but I'm not surprised by it either.

Her mother is probably her "BFF" and is skankier than the daughter. In fact, I bet her mom picked the outfit for her.

I saw a young teenager just last weekend with the word "slut" on her t-shirt.
She looked about 15. WTF! Some girls (and women) have no idea how pathetic that is.

Ah, so they really are that formal huh? That dress is not very appropriate for a formal event, but I'd still let her wear what she wanted... she's just showing off her bad taste and lack of knowledge in etiquette by choosing to wear that particular 'dress'.
Oh and, I wasn't paying *that* much attention to the dress so I don't know about the fabric lol
And yes well, if she was about to start a fight, then I think it's ok that they didn't let her in. But then again, the reason she was about to start a fight was that she wasn't being let in in the first place lol

I couldn't agree more with the highlighted part....nod

I don't necessarily think arresting her was over the top...she obviously would not cooperate with what she was being asked to do...she even said that the only options given were to go home or go to jail...she apparently made the choice herself....it doesn't say she was charged with anything, she was probably just removed from the site and her parents called to pick her up...
