I've looked at life from both sides now!

I've decided to try sleeping on the other side of the bed.

It's like a whole new world over here! Now I know how Larry felt when he had to make lefty calls:

Or how the E Street Band felt when Bruce made them swap places on the Tunnel of Love Express Tour:

Are you a right-sider or a left-sider?

Hell! If I had the space to myself, I'd be spread out, with my head at the foot of the bed, smack in the middle, sideways with pillows.....
Instead, I have my hubby snoring, on the left side, and two poochies curled up in all directions.
It ends up being cozy, warm, and predictable. We just find our space. smile

I sleep on the side closest to the door, which right now is the left. When I used to have my bed on the opposite side of the room, I slept on the right. I've tried to sleep on the side furthest from the door but I always move back in my sleep. This rule only applies to my home. I don't give two shits in Chi-Town which side I sleep on in hotels.

Hmmm... which side is right and which side is left? I've never been clear on that. Is it determined by standing at the foot of the bed and looking toward the headboard? Or is it when you're lying on your back? I know I'm overthinking this, but I've never been able to figure out which is the left side of the bed and which is the right.

and think about how you're treating me now.
Then try to reconcile them, if you can.
But you don't even remember, do you?"

I have always switched sides contantly; depending on need. I used to move alot in my life; in earlier life I moved from bedroom to bedroom in the house I grew up in, as my older brother and sisters left the house, leaving my mom and I. So the bed would be against a wall, left or right, or it would be free standing. I liked to move the furniture in my room around alot; so where I slept changed quickly, often weekly.

When I moved out and got my first double, it depended in what room it was. My first studio appartment, I slept right (nearest to door), my first house, also. Then in Paris I had two bedrooms, if I slept in the bedroom on the courtyard side, left, if I slept on the street side, right.

Now I sleep left, cuz in my new house I have two really small bedrooms. and I always sleep next to a radiator with a huge knob that extends into the bed, kinda.
That sounds raunchy, but it ain't.
In the left bedroom the radiator thing is on the right, so I sleep on the left.

I'm a which ever side of the bed is closest to the door type.
I have no idea why, but I have to be near the door, I can't feel stuck or trapped.
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

I mean this is GD; this thread could have been about anal douches. Now if it had been the MUSIC forum, you might have had a shot at Joni.
