And that's great. I am very happy a lot of peope saw it just for Robert Downey's sake. My only beef is when people try to convince me it was good and ask: you didn't like such and such part? What about this? What about that? They act like I'm disliking it on purpose.

hater...lol

I think we'd all be better off if we accept that they aren't adapting these movies to satisfy comic fans...they make 'em for the general public...generally, they throw comic geeks a minimal bone in the movies, something that only we'd pick up on...that being said, I agree that Iron Man was probably the best adaptation to date...
I think some comic book purists hold these films to an unrealistic standard...

suppose you got a valid point there.

well i dont like it when someone messes with the Batman story either. But then again DC has been chopping and changing everything so much and so often, I really have no idea what the real story is sometimes.

Well, nobody likes a minimal bone...

I kind of agree with you but disagree somewhat. Anytime a work is adapted from one medium (like books) to another (like movies), changes have to be made to fit the new format and the new audience. But I think the best adaptations (Batman Begins, first two Spider-Man movies, first two X-Men movies) did indeed satisfy comic fans quite a bit, and they did more than just throw comic collectors a bone. They had a lot of great references and stayed essentially true to the comics, just as Iron Man did. I'm still not sure I'd call Iron Man the best adaptation, but it's a damn good one.

Yeah, I am a huge X-Men fan and I dug all three movies. The last didn't flesh out the new characters enough though.
