I just paid $126.75 for coffee

OK, I guess I should itemize it for you...

3.75 for the coffee itself.
123.00 for the traffic violation for taking a right-turn on a "no-right on red" intersection.

Don't police folks have ANYTHING better to do in a country with violent crime rates so high?

FUCK.

I actually have paid $100+ for coffee beans....Jamaican Blue Mountain, which is considered the best. It's not easy to find here. Gloria Jean carries it.
It was a splurge.... smile

Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee is a classification of coffee grown in the Blue Mountains of Jamaica. The best lots of Blue Mountain coffee are noted for their mild flavor and lack of bitterness. Over the last several decades, this coffee has developed a reputation that has made it one of the most expensive and sought-after coffees in the world. In addition to its use for brewed coffee, the beans are the flavor base of Tia Maria coffee liqueur. Though certain lots of Jamaican Blue Mountain have long been the most expensive coffee traded, Bourbon pointu from RĂ©union Island (an overseas French territory) surpassed this mark in April 2007."

I'll have to try the Tia Maria liqueur.
The JBM beans run between $28.50-$50.00/# or 16 0z.
Some advertisements are for less, but only 12 oz., so you have to check the weight.

Darn! You could've bought some great coffee for that ticket!

Where did you buy Blue Mountain for 15 bucks a cup? whofarted

That doesn't make any sense to me. That must be a South Beach rip-off because if you are in Miami in Kendall (the middle-class suburb), Key Biscayne (the upper-middle class island) or Overtown (the GHETTO), all locations have heavy populations of Jamaicans who deal in the import of that coffee and locals drink it like water, it's not that expensive throughout the rest of the city. It's not the price of a Dunkin' Donuts coffee, but given Miami's physical proximity to Jamaica, and the number of Jamaican residents that deal in food and coffee imports there... eek ...ummm, ummm, 15 bucks for a cup of Blue Mountain is just layers of wrong disbelief

...anyhoo...sorry to hear about your ticket. Clearly that SUCKS.

stupid cops. I hate them. Well, I hate traffic citations, not the cops, unless they are complete pricks.

That's as bad as my $130 ham sandwich.

...I was broke one day and decided to drive home for lunch and make myself a sandwich...I was caught speeding and got a $125 ticket.

So my "free" lunch wound up costing me $125.

Never had it myself, but back in the day, they used to sell it in the Marketplace at Macy*s...and it was about $30/lb (in the late 80's). Also the Hawai'ian Kona beans were very expensive.
