In light of Tony's thread about horror films and sseing that most folks who posted mentioned The Exorcist. That prompted me to do a thread about a film that is considered a serious cult classic and very rare; A film titled "Abby". It's the black version of The Exorcist. U know, like Dracula, then "Blacula". Same thing here. "Abby" came out in 1974, just a year after The Exorcist. But this has an all black cast. It was released in the theatres too. I have the vhs of it. The film is waaaaay out to say the least. William Marshall, who played Blacula, is in this as well. It's a straight rip off from The Exorcist but it does have it's moments. It's a fun movie to watch if u dig The Exorcist. Has anyone on here ever see this film? Like I mentioned, it's really rare.

I would be so interested in watching this.

I've heard of it, but I've never seen it. I remember that someone mentioned "Abby" in that Blaxploitation thread from a few months back.

"Blacula" and "Scream, Blacula, Scream" are 2 of fave my movies! I'd like to check out "Abby" as well.

I heard the initial working title for this was "The Blaxorcist."

I have never even heard of this movie.

All I can think of while reading this thread was that Richard Pryor routine if the Priest in The Exorcist had been black.
