I hated the first preview for it, and I don't think my opinion of the movie would be much better Albeit the aesthetics of it looked gorgeous.

Actually, if you're a fan of the cartoon it's pretty good.
Here's the deal. It's a live action version of a CARTOON. The Wachowski's didn't give it the "hollywood" treatment ala "Transformers", it's a pretty faithful re-creation of the cartoon. I mean for god's sake, his little brother's best friend is a chimp named "Chim-Chim". So if you liked/loved the cartoon, you should like/love the movie. If you've never even seen the cartoon, and are going to see the new movie from "the Matrix guys" do yourself a favor and DON'T. http://www.facebook.com/p...111?ref=ts
y'all gone keep messin' around wit me and turn me back to the old me......

i loved it! i know it's a flop, but i really think it's because not enough people "got" it. it's a FAITHFUL live-action version of the cartoon in every stylistic way possible. that includes the painfully cheezy dialogue, but i thought it worked in this movie because it just felt campy and fun. it's not a movie you have to take seriously. just sit back and enjoy the pretty colors for a couple of hours. i'd be up for seeing this movie again. it's not a brilliant story and the acting isn't fantastic, but the whole thing is designed so beautifully, i never got tired of looking at this film. the set designs, the costumes, the special effects, EVERYTHING. it was just so pretty. and i want the monkey that played chim-chim to get an oscar nomination because he had me cracking up every time he was on screen.

ZombieKitten said: Anxiety said: there were indeed piranhas in it. i felt like the piranhas were stereotyped in the film, though. you never get to see the tender side of piranhas in movies and that's a shame.
