Ur Fave "Stand-Up-Comedian-Turned-Actor" Movie

They've (Hollywood) got the formula down!

Super hot comedian makes tv show or hit comedy album or comedy concert movie, and now is the must have 4 the latest formula flick pushed by the balding execs of Hollywood... who seem 2 b stuck in the cliche of chomping on cheap cigars, boffing their blonde dyed, fake titted secretaries, and ordering quick chinese take out while tortured by the idea that zit popping, cracking-voiced teenagers actually control their lives by their yay or nay views of their latest product... hmmm, I've lost my train of thought.

Anyway... who's ur fave? lol

I'll start:

Steve Martin graduated from his very strange stand up act of acting like a jerk 2 his film, "The Jerk", which went on 2 make millions... great film, great career, but my fave is a lessor known film called "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid". Shot in black and white, directed by Carl Reiner this film combines movies made from old b/w films with mega-star actors (Humphrey Bogart, Jimmy Cagney, etc.) spliced with new footage of Steve as a detective... very, very funny!

Eddie Murphy graduated from SNL and his excellent per4mance of his live concert "Delirious" 2 star in "Beverly Hills Cop". It remains one of my favorite comedies, and soundtracks!

Jim Carrey graduated from lackluster debuts in film ("Earth Girls Are Easy" and "Peggy Sue Got Married") 2 star in stupid, yet very successful comedies like "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective", "Liar, Liar", "Dumb & Dumber".
The Mask", etc...

Other great comedian-turned-actors:

Dan Akroyd
John Belushi
Gilda Radner
Chevy Chase
Bill Murry (fuck...the whole SNL NRFPTP cast!)
Martin Lawrence
Chris Tucker
George Carlin
Paul Rodriguez
Paul Ruebens aka Pee Wee Herman
Phil Hartman

Anyone else? Don't b shy... add urs 2! I know there's some I missed...

It's a tie between Jamie Fox and Mike Epps.

I think both of them should star in a movie together.

They shared a few scenes in Bait which were
hilarious.

LEE EVANS ('Theres Something About Mary', 'MouseHunt').

Genius stand-up. Superb and underrated actor.

Nuff said.

Easy.
Eddie Murphy.
Raw and Delirious are both classics. I once heard him say that in his entire movie career all his films have made money. Thats not bad going for someone who's made a few turkeys amongst the gems.
Golden Child - Surely the BEST film ever...

What about Robin Williams? i don't like his films much, but as a stand up, he's a riot!

Yea, Bill Murray never misses. I like Steve, he can do comedy & drama well. Chris Tucker can still be funny, but he's on the $ path now - COASTING. Martin was good before he flipped.

I'd say Eddie but he's been so incredibly off the mark lately, I wish he'd get back on track. The last good film he made was Boomerang... sad
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart
