She's been there for me no matter what and when I came out to her she was totally cool touched She was actually glad I'd decided to be myself mushy She's been through so much and I admire her for I know it requires a LOT of strength to survive what she's lived confused

I never do, nor will I ever take her presence and guidance for granted.

I have a great mom. She's loving and caring and kind to everyone. She's 74 and has been disabled for 10 years. She's in constant pain and can not do anything for herself (except feed herself). It's very hard on my dad (who's the best father and grandfather ever) and it's hard on all of us too, but we love her so much. Unfortunately, she does not believe in pain meds and only takes them when she feels she really needs them. It's frustrating because she could be in less pain, but she hates feeling "out there" as she says. I'm very fortunate to still have her and I look forward to spending Mothers Day with her and many more.

That is one of the things that stand out in my Mom when she was
sick, she died of breast cancer, she was in constant pain. It is a very helpless situation. I pray for relief for you Mom. rose

That's very kind of you Paisley. I'm not a praying person, but I do appreciate your words. And, just remember that you will always be your moms baby even though she isn't here. That will never change.

Thank you, I am lucky!

actually, the only time I really hated being called baby was when I was in high school, and some hot guy would call, and my Mom would yell out "Baby!, phone for you!!" eek

Our parents can embarrass us often when we are teenagers, but when we get older we love all that mushy kind of attention. You remember it too, so it's special. We never seem to forget stuff like this.

I know some of you say it is inconvenient and all that to deal with the whole Mother's day present, giving your Mom a call and having to listen to her rambling blah, blah, blah..and for some of you even the thought of having to visit her, makes you itch. In that case, this thread is not for you. This thread is to appreciate your Mom!! cloud9 My dear Mom passed away 11 years ago, and not a day goes by that I do not wish I could have one more hug, one more kiss, one more time to have her be bossy and nosey. I know I was not always the perfect daughter, and way to many times I took her for granted, I thought she would always be around. I am now 42, and I wish that my Mom was alive so that she could see how much I look like her, sometimes I look in the mirror, and I see my Mom looking back at me. My Mom had a way of embarrassing me, she would always call me "baby" I was the youngest of 4, and she would love to tell the world, that I was her baby. I miss being her baby.. rose

sad hug

i call my son "bubby" - but have tried to stop doing so in public- he is at "that age" where kids get embarrassed. but he will always be my bubby mushy
seems that i was busy doing something close to nothing, but different than the day before music beret
