How has the world changed the most since you were a kid? I asked my kids this question today and it got some real interesting responses so I figured i'd ask you? With me its mostly been hairstyles and technology that have changed.  Carpenters bend wood, fletchers bend arrows, wise men fashion themselves.

technology without a doubt. the swift and dramatic changes that have
occured over the last 20 years make me wonder what the world will be like in another 20 years. i guess us old folks will be hopelessly out of touch by then and true love lives on lollipops and crisps | |

Everything!
From music, fashion, technology. But for some reason, what stands out the most, is how kids use to play outside. Riding their bikes everywhere, not coming in until the street lights came on. Y'know...I think another factor in this is that people just don't have as many kids anymore. So it's hard to get a good game of any kind going. In the neighborhood I grew up in, there was one family that had fewer than three children - and most families had four or five. There was always somebody to play or hang out with. [Edited 5/2/08 8:17am] I grew up as an only child but we had a "crew" of neighborhood kids that hung out and kicked it outside ALL day, EVERY day during the summers and on weekends. Now, I live in the 'burbs and I know there are a lot of kids in the neighborhood and there's usually 2 or 3 out and about (walking through my lawn  ). However, they're outside in spurts and it's never a pack of 'em like when I was a kid. I think they hangout at each other's houses playing video games. [Edited 5/2/08 8:22am] | |

lots has changed...
the internet - they offered a computer class when i was in high school, i remember thinking it wasnt such a big deal (it was relatively new) so i decided not to take it 
the SIZE of computers has changed so much since then. drugs, they have changed a lot since i was young... crack? meth?
gas prices, thats obvious. groceries, i could go to the store and buy 4 loaves of bread for a dollar, no more of that shit! violence, the world is so sick now.... when i started smoking, they were 1.25 a pack... television has changed incredibly!!! it used to go off at like midnight or whatever time it was. we had no remotes, no cable... actually, the christmas we got the vhs player i remember very well, we got ET
candy, they really did have penny candy back then

i remember when my family got our first microwave. my dad was a bit late getting it, but still - now microwaves are everywhere. records or cassette vs cds... cameras - as stated above i remember when the polaroid was the shit
