blink made 7 albums, then the main guy started another band that is doing well, i think. i'm not a fan, tho. but maybe. music industry is a fickle mistress. who knows? i think Ryan & Brendon have the goods to make it last. but Chris, all of those 7 were pretty shallow, not?? Even allmusic.com says that PATD is blatently stealing from the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper.....no originality..... Spooky did have some point.... However, you like them.....

Spooky did have some point.... However, you like them..... as for Blink, I really don't know. Like I said, I'm not a fan. I was only responding to the numbers of albums, which was what the first mention about them related to. as far as Allmusic, the review goes on to also compare the sound to Morrisey and the Byrds, and after a whole load of negativity throughout the review ultimately concedes... It all adds up to a pretty and odd record and it erases no suspicions that the band aren't quite sure of what they're doing, but the glorious thing about Pretty. Odd is that the album works in spite of this...or perhaps because of it. Either way, this is a deliriously jumbled, left-field delight. i don't disagree that the Beatles influence is obvious (nor do they), but with more than a cursory listen, there's also nods to Dylan and 70's rock. original ideas? no. well executed? yes. there's remarkable growth between the first and second album, which i think bodes well for a potential future. the only challenge i'd take up with Spooky is the shrooms reference. I'm sure they were taking a hell of a lot more than just shrooms! http://elmadartista.tumblr.com/ http://twitter.com/madartista
