I love the comics, even as a European.....sometimes I do not understand all they're getting at since it is dealing with American stuff only.....I guess that's also the reason why the show isn't being aired over here...

I watched the first episode & was completely turned off, not gonna lie. BUT I was roped into watching one recently (where 2 rappers were beefin', Mos Def did the voice of the dude who got shot) & that shit was funny So I'll keep checking it out, maybe they were still working out the kinks in those first few (like any other show). I probably should have given more of a chance in the first place

I love it. It's one of the few shows of any kind on TV today that keeps it real. Also, it's one of the few shows that deals with problems in society, especially among African-Americans. Sure, there's great humor behind it, but behind every joke lies some truth. And the Boondocks tells it, like it or not.
And Uncle Ruckus is a riot, despite the fact that he's a bigoted, self-hating, asshole. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

The R Kelly episode was comical. And so sadly true!
And that Ann Coulter episode was a riot!!

I had to get mine on dvd since they (for obvious reasons ) don't show it over here. In season one, first episode was off, to be sure. I would reccommend watching the Martin Luther King episode (SO relevant with what's happening right now politically)...and then, ESPECIALLY for YOU, being healthy food person that you are, you should check out the commentary on the traditional black diet called "The Itus". Other than that, I've only had the chance to see some random episodes from season two online. But I did just watch the links someone posted on this thread for the banned episodes, and the first one is about BET . I see very clearly how if that episode was released he definitely would have made A LOT of new enemies in high places. I'm surprised that mess didn't come with a disclaimer

If you take issue with the seriousness of it then that's understandable. It is after all, meant to be biting social commentary that asks tough questions. However, reducing it to being "stupid" isn't entirely accurate or fair

"Game recognize game, Grandad and you lookin' mighty unfamiliar right now. What happened to Grandad? Can I help you, sir."
When I see it I really enjoy the show, might not always agree with whatever it is they trying to say in every episode, but I like the uniqueness of it. Never got to see the strip much so I really can't make any really comparisons. My detail recall fails me sometimes edit. [Edited 5/5/08 12:15pm]

LOVE LOVE LOVE This show!!! They pull NO PUNCHES, speak truths that rarely see the light of day and do so in a way that can still make you laugh. The characters are the best!!! A working class Hero is something to be ~ Lennon

My feelings exactly. The strip is one of my all time favorites, up there with Calvin & Hobbes and The Far Side. The show? Eh. It's made me laugh, but I prefer the strip. The Normal Whores Club

the episode that i found 2 b so hilarious is "The Story of Gangstalicious Part 2" when gangstalicious made a new song called "Homies over hoes" lmao!!! Riley was so naive and didn't find n-ethin homo bout that and he started dressin up like 1, even rockin a purse w/ it

I used to not want to watch the show because the overuse of the word Nigga but quality writing and the crazy scenarios they come up with bought me back to it. Uncle Ruckus is the funniest character despite his self hating Gooney eyed ass, the guy who voices him does it perfectly. Jeux Sans Frontiers

I love it. It actually ridicules the ignorance in black American culture. Hopefully the example will be used to improve the situation among them. I love little Huey though.
