What goals have you set for yourself for the rest of this year? Do you set goals?

Being totally out of debt.

To go back to school.

make it to may 30th, finishing everything, with a minimum number of freakouts
graduate
temporary job
maybe become closer to my parents

I don't set goals.

But I'm looking into the house thing, and since I didn't get the last jobs I was trying for, I'm figuring out what my next steps are there.

Oh, and planning a fairly major trip this fall to somewhere exotic I've never been. Still working on the particulars, but it's gonna be good!

Yes I set goals

daily, weekly, monthly. yearly and so on

I am goal driven and have created a wonderful life for myself and my family by being so

I am going to pay off my 3 yr car loan by the 1 yr mark of buying it - in 2008

No, I've far tougher goals for this year:

1) Run a 5k in a few months. For me, this is a real challenge. I'm a strummer, not a runner (yet).

2) Pay off my car completely and stop using my credit cards altogether.

3) Paint my house. (Looking forward to this.)

4) Finally put together an album of my music.

5) Take concrete steps toward the next phases of my life, romantically and professionally.

I'm going to lose 40lbs (lost 10 since january)

I'm going to explore my spiritual self far more

I'm going to make a name for myself as an artist

I'm going to be financially safe

I'm going to be accepted into an art Residency at a gallery that works with my university

I'm going to finally be happy with who I am as a person, physically, intellectually and emotionally.

to increase my veterinary knowledge

to maintain my friendships and other relationships better

to eat better and get into better shape

I completed some pretty hefty goals already this year, but it feels like the tip of the iceberg. I really want to get back into the habit of writing for myself and hopefully for an audience again, to where it's a regular and considerable part of my life by the end of the year. It doesn't matter if I have recognition or success or whatever...I just want to be DOING again. I guess that's my big goal. And I think I knocked out some of the stressors that have been hovering over my head for a long time, so there's a little more space open in my mind to devote to my writing again. So that's a good thing.

oh and to add:

i'm going to get rid of all the toxic people in my life, even if it's the hardest thing i've done

i'm also going to pace myself more in the dating realm, let them, come to me.

I need to get a new job.

I'd like to not sleepwalk through stuff anymore. I'd like to be more present in the moment, maybe waste a little less time.

- Lose the last couple of pounds that I need to lose.

- Start exercising more and regularly.

- Get a new job.

- Stop fooling around and focus on my studies more.

- Find a man that actually cares about me and treats me right.

- Stop going out so much and save my money!
