Anyone into Photography? Is anyone here into cameras?
I just got a Canon A720 IS & i cant seem to take a good close up photo. It is TOO bright or TOO dark. I use auto & macro for close ups...the outdoor shots are better, Im trying to get lots of detail like dewdrops on leaves & tree buds...etc... & i know i have LOTS more to learn..but any advice would be great~~~ ![]() ![]()

yes.
i still have a lot 2 learn though. try to use the manual setting if u can and then u can use the macro setting, if u have one. check ur flash, onn or off and look at your iso settings if things are too bright. does it show the histogram when taking pics? [Edited 4/25/08 22:29pm]

I like the pics. I have a folder on my drive totally dedicated to the arts; one of the sub-folders is dedicated to photography. I have a few pics of Charlotte there.
My main focus is one portraits though, with a love for old pics you find at fairs. Old abandoned pics in need of a home. But also 20'/30's/40's/50's Hollywood pics, esp by people like Horst P. Horst and the likes. We just had a Vanity Fair thread where we splashed out on those pics. Lately I seem to find alot of good stuff on deviantart; loads of people pushing the borders on portraits, which I like. I also love architectual pics, old pics of cities.

And with the basic little flash I'm actually quite impressed with the results on my d40x when I adjust the settings a little so I can avoid that nasty every single pore shows brightness on portraits.

I shot a whole wedding, 600+ shots with a D80 and D200, the ones I shot at ISO1600 will all have to be converted to black and white to be at all useable ![]()

B & W is timeless especially for an occassion like a wedding, but it does suck when something u want does not turn out or 2 dark? [Edited 4/26/08 0:08am]

Yes. Sure is. Charlotte, do you have a site with your pics? Besides flickr. I mean a proffesional site where you can showcase your work.

They look like they're into it, the posing and actually standing still, and even taking pics too. I can never keep my nephews in one place standing still, let alone get them to pose a certain way. Actually, I can barely get Mon to do that. ![]()

Damn them! ![]() I suppose us Nikon users just have to spend a bit more time post processing then. I was gonna get PS CS3 the other day then saw it needs something like 300+ MB of RAM just to open. We've got 480 total. ![]() ![]()

I am!
This is my cam at the moment ![]() ![]() It's VERY clear and recording film is crystal clear too in terms of sound and picture. You can change the colors of your photo (like say from black and white to sepia or colour to b&w) with the push of a button. It has red eye correction too. Great cam, even though I eventually want to get a more professional one.
