AHHHH I'm PISSED!!!! I'M SICK OF MY CAR PROBLEMS! Sorry but I need to vent!!! I hate my fuckin car. 1 month ago I
took it in for an oil change cuz the oil light came on. Got the oil job done and I was on my merry lil way. 1 week later the light comes flickering on again while I'm driving and I think it must be a faulty sensor cuz I just had the oil changed. Suddenly the engine seizes and I tow it to a mechanic who says it doesn't have any oil in it. Then I tow it back to my original mechanic and to make a long story short I end up buyin a used engine but with only 24000 miles on it. Sure enough with my shit luck after driving it for two weeks the service engine soon light comes on Then the car has no power and breaks down again. After towing it 5 times to different places the last place it ends up is at the dealer who charges me a grip for work that I'm not even sure had anything to do with anything related to the main problem. I say this because when they pulled it up it was smoking from the exhaust. They do more tests and guess what the engines no good. Now I'm without a car til monday and I live 20 miles away from these mechanic shops as well as my job which is on the same street. Now it's either take the bus, call for a ride, or rent a car but either way my luck with this car stinks. I'm so bummed out right now. To Sir, with Love

Car problems SUCK!! Not only are they inconvenient, but it usually costs a fortune to fix them.
OK...what kind of car do you have so I know not to buy that.

That thing was in the shop more than I got to drive it. All I ever buy now are Hondas, Acuras, or Toyotas. They do cost more up front, but I never have problems with them.

Car Problems are THE reason I don't own a car. Of course the only cars I did have were shit to begin with. My last car died due to it not being able to turn off. We yanked the wires, put towels in the exhaust pipe yet nothing. Eventually we got it to turn off. I towed it to be fixed and they said the cost of towing and fixing was worth more than the car itself. I told them they could have it. Christian Zombie Vampires

Yeah I'm getting to that point right now. As much as I'm spending it's just not worth it. The only problem is trying to get around Orange County with no car is impossible cuz of how spread out everything is. To Sir, with Love

I am surprised you weren't offered a warranty with that used engine. Did the mechanic not get it from a parts store, or did he pull it out of a junk yard?
I ask all these questions because my Dad is a mechanic and you should have gotten some kind of warranty on a used/rebuilt engine. I am sorry this has happened to you, but I would really look into trying to get your money back. Sounds like someone took you for a sucker. I hope your car problems get worked out. It truly sucks to be without a car. Proud Memaw to Seyhan Olivia Christine ,Zoey Cirilo Jaylee & Ellie Abigail Lillian

You are very welcome. I am glad you have a warranty. Truly sucks that you will get charged for labor and such. The mechanic who sold you the crappy engine, should replace the engine and do the labor for free. I truly hate mechanics who try and take advantage of others. My Dad has and never will treat folks like that. He believes in being honest and helping out. Hell that man would get paid with canned chiles and tamales. And he didn't mind doing it. spelling [Edited 4/18/08 15:13pm] Proud Memaw to Seyhan Olivia Christine ,Zoey Cirilo Jaylee & Ellie Abigail Lillian

PEJ said: horatio said: Volvos are even better! plus its likely the volvo/european car mechanic isnt going to be a shyster because he likely deals with people who know a few things about cars, because most people who own european cars are some form of car enthusiast. At least thats how I feel about the one I deal with. He doesn't even charge to just find out what the problem is. Also has no problem telling you how to fix things yourself and has no problems with putting parts on that you bought else where. Volvos are dependable even the earliest ones. And they seem to be a quick sale because they are quite desirable. Also the safest vehicle on the road.

OMG! How does that happen! I parked it and the ignition key wouldn't turn to off. So we thought that pulling the wires under the steering column would work. We eventually had to call our Neighbor Sam the Leather man to help us turn off the car. He suggested the towels in the tail pipe. Somehow he got it to turn off. Christian Zombie Vampires

I once had a dog tired Ford Escort ...One day driving over a speed hump the gear box fell out in the middle of Salford ...Apparently the whole engine was loose ...It was towed to the garage where they said they would fix it ...The bastards welded the engine to the chassis! ...It drove like a tank... loosened all my fillings...and gave me a bad case of the shakes ...I drove it til it died... it just gave up... creating a smoke screen that caused a smog throughout Lancashire
