Fatal shooting occurs after man whistles at woman 11:40 AM CT

A 22-year-old man is being accused of murder after someone whistled at his female friend, Dallas police said Wednesday.


Donald Lynn Moore of Dallas was with his friend in her Lake Highlands apartment the night of April 16 when she stepped onto her balcony and heard a whistle from a group of men in the parking lot, police said.

Mr. Moore exchanged words with one of the men, Ivory Roche, 26, of Dallas, witnesses told police.

Mr. Moore walked away and returned moments later with a handgun, police said. He started shooting at Mr. Ivory, who tried to flee through the parking lot of the Toscana Palms Apartments on 9750 Royal Lane.

After Mr. Ivory tripped, he was shot twice in the head, police said.

Mr. Moore was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with murder. He was being held in the Dallas County jail Wednesday in lieu of $50,000 bail.

I didn't say it was right or justified or reasonable or anything like that. Shooting the cat was 100000 times worse. Dur.

It was a random whistle from god knows how many yards away.

According to this report they did not verbally abuse her or insult her with epithets.

Additionally , they did not invade her personal space or physically accost her. She was on her personal property, which they did not invade, being that they were in a the parking lot. Unless someone can clearly shed some light on how this woman or her friend was threatend by this incident, this clearly was not an act of self-defense. It's sociopathic.

I live in Oakland, CA. where in 2007 we had 127 people killed thanks to gun violence. The year before it was 148! In the past 5 years 557 families suffered the loss of a loved one. This is just one city!

This past weekend Chicago reported that from last Friday to this Monday there were 36 shootings with 9 dead.

On April 10th a father was shot while driving his two sons home from school.



In conclusion I just need to say that it doesn't matter what you say, do, or whatever. There are too many handguns out there with far too many morons standing behind them, finger on the trigger. You can be nice as you want to and still wind up dead for nothing. Whistles, mean faces, rims , shoes, Ipods, your lady (or man) apparently anything goes when you have that ultimate power of a handgun.
