Better for you, if you would keep an eye on it you would notice it's something very annoying and nasty and it spoils any friendship/relationship.

But you are probably right and it was originally intented the way you say but times have changed big time indeed so the cave men jealousy has morphed into unhappy, stressy, being bored, high mortgage paying, fastfood eating people jealousy.

But don't throw away men. Plenty of my male collegues are very jealous (in a cave man way ) of other men, acting very cocky, argueing and then go for a drink with eachother. I have to admit that I love that aspect about men. A lot of women are not capable to do that.

Another male (thank god ex-) collegue of mine was so incredibly jealous of everybody that he made me literally ill.
Just some simple example of his jealousy/envy, my brother in law did university and works as a manager somewhere. I work at an engineering company and I had send my ex collegue, named G. to my brother in law because I knew he had some projects we could use.
Afterwards G. gets back and started talking about my brother in law, not about the work but about my brother in law. He said: pfff, that guy is just some dork who started at the bottom of the ladder and made it to manager. Not knowing this guy had done Uni and was a good manager. He himself had absolutely no certificates.
My brother in law told me that G. was only asking him about his car since he had a very big car. Pure envy/jealousy whatever, sick in the head!

And you can guess that we never got the projects.

People get jealous out of wanting and seeing something that somebody else has which you don't. In that sense, I find it hard to believe when people say they never get jealous. I used to be a tremendously jealous person but not so much these days. I can't remember the last time I was jealous but I will let you know when I do!
