confuse Ace, what's up with your obsession around lathering details?

Should we be worried about you, mate? hmm

I wash my hair every other day. My hair isn't oily and I don't really use much hair product, so it works out. I lather up my hair for a couple of minutes, rinse it out, condition, rinse it out blahblah. Once I'm out of the shower, I wrap my hair up in a towel and let it soak up any excess water. I usually blow dry and straighten my hair once a week, just 'cause I get tired of having wavy hair all the time shrug

I wash mine every day because it's very fine and gets flat and/or lumpy if I don't. I wash it even if I have a show on a particular day - when I know I'm going to be spraying a bunch of Aqua Net to "dirty it up" before I do whatever I have to for the show (like adding extensions or a "piece," teasing it, etc).

I just hate the feel (and smell) of greasy hair.

I have about five shampoos in the shower, and rotate them so I use a different one every day. I lather once, working through from roots to ends so the hair doesn't get tangled. I condition occasionally in the winter. In that case, I put the conditioner on first, then apply the shampoo without rinsing out the conditioner. Most conditioners are too heavy for my hair, so I can't condition last thing.

Sometimes, I just use a spray-in detangler. That's really all the conditioning I need most of the time.

everyday wash and condition, unless I'm lazy and don't take a shower. That happens a lot. Sometimes I'll go two days if I'm REALLY lazy, that doesn't happen much.

I wash my hair everyday if I dont it gets oily. I shampoo it twice, I know some say it's not necessary to shampoo twice but I feel my hair hair feels cleaner if I do and I always condition, I leave the conditioner in for at least 5 minutes. I always add a serum to my hair to help with the frizz and usually let it air dry.

once a week, I use a clarifying shampoo, followed by a baking soda paste.

No, no. No scrubbing involved until the shampoo is.

Not a lot of force, but I massage my scalp fairly well. Of course I get my hair wet before shampooing, I thought that was a given. Total lathering time? Perhaps 2 minutes?

In the interest of Imago's delicate sensibilities, I will not ask you if you still smoke while your hair is drying. shhh

giggle

Actually, I only do that for his benefit. It never would have even occurred to me to smoke with wet hair until I knew just exactly how much it bothered him.

What does the baking soda do?

I wash mine about every other day or two days sometimes, anyway I use lots of conditioner, colour my hair, blow dry it and starighten it neutral It still looks alright. But I know it would look better with less straigtening but I hate my hair naturally wavy unless its set properly.

OK, I also change up my shampoo. I use a second kind once or twice a week. It does help.
Lastly, I DO blow dry every day, cause that's what makes my hair so gorgeous. But I wrap my hair in a towel for at least 10 minutes after my shower, then comb it out and let it air dry for about 20-25 minutes or so. Then I put on a protector/shine product first, section my hair (using clips and such) and the blow drying really is just a quick finshing touch. It gives it the nice curve under for a perfect bob shape.

it just removes buildup, it's not the best thing for your hair, but if you use a lot of crap in your hair, doing this once a month can remove all the gunk. Be sure to follow with a lot of conditioner or a deep conditioner.

I can't use it cause it's alkaline.

My hair is normally coarse and dry. For that type of hair, highly acidic conditioners work best. shrug

Cool. I will try that.

Doesn't vinegar cause baking soda to bubble violently though? confuse

If not, how many times/wk.?

How long do you lather? Do you do so gently or are you a hair Dom/Dominatrix? Do you rinse and repeat? Condition? If so, what's your routine there?

This thread is dedicated to Imago.

I just bleached my hair again

I usually wash my hair every other day. Sometimes I'll go longer if I'm not going to be out in public for awhile. I shampoo twice and use a quarter size conditioner. I also use a straigtening gel from Aquage after I wash my hair. If I'm going to be going out, I blow dry my hair and use a straigtener. I don't have curly hair but it's starting to get wavy with my old age. If I curl my bangs, I usually give them a quick spray with hairspray. but only on my bangs.

I must wash my hair everyday, it is a must..I would be a grease ball if I did not...not a cute look. So everyday, mornings before work, I lather, rinse, condition. For how long? until one of my kids starts asking me questions under the door, or banging on the door because it's their turn and we are running late. neutral
