Cool site! Jott
From Wikipedia: Jott is a voice to text transcription service which allows its users to call a toll-free telephone number and speak for up to 30 seconds. The speech is then transcribed to text using a combination of software and of human transcribers, who work in a "sterile environment which also includes medical dictation." The message can be sent back to oneself, turned into a reminder, sent to a contact or group, or sent to a third party "Jott link" such as LiveJournal. Sending to contacts and groups can be through email, text message, or both.
I happened upon this while googling to see if the iPhone has a voice memo feature. My cell has VM, but - even though it can be activated with a voice prompt - it requires keypad action to save the memo (not exactly handy when you're driving, which is when I wanna use it). So, now I just call Jott and it sends me an email with the memo in text. Double-plus good, 'cause - even when I used the feature on my celly - I'd always forget to check my voice memos. P.S. Anybody got an iPhone? If so, have you used the make-your-own-ringtone feature? | |
