April is the cruelest month Not that I'm the biggest fan of The Waste Land but it's April and this is a post your favorite poem thread!
I just ate some plums from the icebox, so right now I'm really feeling this one by William Carlos Williams: This is Just To Say I have eaten the plums that were in the icebox and which you were probably saving for breakfast. Forgive me they were delicious so sweet and so cold. -- William Carlos Williams And while I was google searching this poem so that I didn't get any of the words wrong, I cam across this remix of the poem: This is Just To Say - Eminem Remix So what? I ate the fuckin' plums that were in the fuckin' icebox and which you were prolly savin' for yourself but fuck you, Kim, you muthafucka don't you tell me what to fuckin' do. Oh my! It was from this website: http://www.everypoet.org/...-5472.html So yeah, post your favorite poem or, if you're feeling extra creative, remix your favorite poem.

Under the willow, wound with ivy,
we shelter from the storm. A greatcoat covers our shoulders, my arms, to keep you warm. I’m wrong. The trees in this wood are circled with hops not ivy. Better to spread the coat on the ground, here, beneath me.

A painful rededication, this Spring,
like the building of cathedrals between wars, and masons at decayed walls; and we are almost too tired to begin again with miracles and leaves and lingering on steps in sudden sun; tired by the way isolated drifts lie melting, like hulks of large fish rotting far upbeach; the disinterested scrapes of shovels collecting sand from sidewalks, destroying streams; and school-children in streetcars, staring out, astonished. We had learned a dignity in late winter, from austere trees and dry brown bushes, but Spring disturbs us like the morning, and we may hope only for no October.

i haven't read poetry in while, but i like this lyric from this band called velvet eden
saakasu byou waraigoe o tomerarezu ni nakidashita piero ki no fureta moujuuzukai no oneesan ga muchi o furu okubyou na tejinashi wa sawagu bijo o hako ni tsume kankyakuseki ni wa boku hitori hen na saakasu hazukashigariya no gikochinai tamanori no onna no ko wa boku o mite hoho o akaku some oide oide shinagara hohoemu yo sou koko wa saakasu nanka ja nai kimi ga nakidashite omoidasu te no hodokoshi you mo naku mushibamareta boku wa kakuri sare byoushitsu de sono toki o matsu dake saigo no saakasu ga hajimaru kara kimi mo miyou yo nakanaide saa saigo no maku ga agaru yo or in english circus ball unable to stop laughing, a crying clown a girl animal trainer gone insane swings her whip the timid magician stuffs a beautiful girl into a box i sit alone in the audience seats... such a bizarre circus the shy, clumsy girl riding atop a circus ball looks at me i blush; she smiles as she beckons to me ah, but this is no circus you start to weep and remember beyond help, my decaying self is isolated in the sick room i just wait for the time to come... the final circus is about to begin, so you should watch it together with me don't cry... watch, as the final curtain is raised

Resignation -by Nikki Giovanni
I love you because the Earth turns round the sun because the North wind blows north sometimes because the Pope is Catholic and most Rabbis Jewish because winters flow into spring and the air clears after a storm because only my love for you despite the charms of gravity keeps me from falling off the Earth into another dimension I love you because it is the natural order of things I love you like the habit I picked up in college of sleeping through lectures or saying I'm sorry when I get stopped for speeding because I drink a glass of water in the morning and chain-smoke cigarettes all through the day because I take my coffee Black and my milk with chocolate because you keep my feet warm through my life a mess I love you because I don't want it any other way I am helpless in m love for you It makes me so happy to hear you call my name I am amazed you can resist locking me in an echo chamber where your voice reverberates through the four walls sending me into spasmatic ecstasy I love you because it's been so good for so long that if I didn't love you I'd have to be born again and that is not a theological statement I am pitiful in my love for you The Dells tell me Love is so simple the thought though of you sends indescribably delicious multitudinous thrills throughout and through-in my body I love you because no two snowflakes are alike and it is possible if you stand tippy-toe to walk between the raindrops I love you because I am afraid of the dark and can't sleep in the light because I rub my eyes when I wake up in the morning and find you there because you with all your magic powers were determined that I should love you because there was nothing for you but that I would love you I love you because you made me want to love you more than I love my privacy my freedom my commitments and responsibilities I love you `cause I changed my life to love you because you saw me one friday afternoon and decided that I would love you I love you I love you I love you

I Feel You
By SweeTea I feel You lurking, smiling You know the landscape well like the back of a hand You leak out of holes roam through orchards and across angry oceans You watch the sun walk the southern hemisphere with one eye and the northern one with the other Yes, I feel You, smiling You hear the sound of atomic fusion blackholes, quarks, anti-matter, and similar to man’s illusions You speak and Thy will BE done You are the life running through my veins, living through every cell You love the way I love, cuz, I feel You I scream Your name JAH! Ah! Don’t stop! Can you feel me too? Can you feel what I’m trying to say to You Boo, I love You Give thanks and praise for the power of You The one thing I fear is losing You it’s death Yes, I feel You lurking, smiling You know every heart’s desire You know the tune that takes my body higher my soul deeper and my mind you thrill and yet You say peace be still and the waters calm Yes, I feel You, smiling You speak every language spoken and unspoken You sleep, dream and be interactive reality, simultaneously while intensifying my joy pleasure exponently, gee, it feels like I’m free when I talk to Thee I feel You

You like Nikki Giovanni? She's a professor at my school. I adore her writing. I met her here, when she spoke at Fisk University. I think she's awesome. You're in Blacksburg? Didn't realize that. How weird was the anniversary, last week?
