Okay, here's my two cents. While there's a little bit of truth to that blanket statement, the majority of guys will not cheat on their women. For most guys, they've spent a whole lot of time, effort, and emotional capital just to find a woman who wants to be with them. so they will do everything they can just to be with her and keep her happy. yes, there will be times when they are tempted, but then again it depends on the quality of the woman trying to get the man to cheat on her. If this woman is some drunken two-bit skank who has nowhere near the emotional and/or intellectual qualities of his wife/girlfriend, then he will dismiss her outright. If this woman is considered to be equally as good as the wife or girlfriend, then he may be more tempted to stray, but this would probably only happen if there are some troubles in the relationship with the wife or girlfriend (e.g, wife won't make love as much as man wants, financial issues infringing on other parts of marriage, woman lets her body go overweight after having kids, etc.). Now if the woman is slightly more superior in some aspects to the wife/girlfriend (younger, bigger firmer breasts and/or hot ass), them the man may actually act on his adulterous desires. (BTW, if the woman is way more superior, like supermodel gorgeous, then he will probably be intimidated by her and think she is out of his league.)

Now of course, there are some guys out there who are serial cheaters, but even then they have a wife/girlfriend who is their main woman. The women they have on the side are often treated as fuck buddies, though the women he is cheating with may not see it that way. Or like in the case of Elliot Spitzer, they have a kept woman on the side to fulfill needs that the wife/girlfriend can't meet. Only about 2% of the guys out there are total manwhores, but then again they are probably not likely to be married in the first place and just jump around to the nearest skank they can find.
