NASA Robotics Competition

The son of a friend of mine is on a team in this high school competition. They are Team #118, from Houston - the "Robonauts".

This competition involves building a robot that can perform in a contest involving movement and grabbing skills. Teams come from all over the world to compete.

I cannot tell you how cool this thing is. First of all, the announcers are as good as anyone on ESPN! Seriously - who knew NASA engineers could do play-by-play? It's a huge competition, held at the Georgia Dome.

Here is the link for today's broadcast:

The Robonauts are on RIGHT NOW! 9:15 AM CDT.

They won their first match, 88 - 20! If you get a chance, tune in to this. It's online today, but tomorrow it;s on the NASA channel.

It is SO COOL.

Pick a field - there are six different fields set up. My friend's son is competing in the Curie Field.

Tomorrow, it's on the NASA channel, which should be on your cable or satellite package.
