Today is my birthday As I reflect upon this day, I make several realizations:
1) My age (36) is now closer to 40 than it is to 30. 2) My life is about half over now. 3) I have lived through four decades and two centuries and one millenium. 4) If I had lived in earlier times I would probably be dead at this age. 5) I have been married for 10 years, owned a house for 10 years, and out of college for 12 years. 6) In two years, I will have a 20th high school reunion that I won't go to. 7) By the time Prince was 36, he had won an Oscar, several Grammys, and had ruined the careers of countless proteges. 8) If you multiple 3 X 6 you get 18 which is exacly half of 36. Damn, do I miss being 18. 9) They say with age comes wisdom. They lie. I'm still dumb as a bag of rocks. 10) It has now been 12 years since I had a full head of hair. All good things they say never last... | |
