People give me hell about it because they know I've got an expansive vocabulary, and pull the ol' "it sounds uneducated" argument on me. Piffle and poppycock, say I. Words are just words, and they only have as much power as you let them. The second you declare a select set of words to be "bad" or "dirty" is the second you give them the power to hurt and offend. But they're just words.

And they're fun to say, t'boot! Pull the ol' Carlin move, and say "cocksucker, motherfucker" over and over again at rapid speed and tell me that doesn't make you smile just a little.

That said, I understand not everyone shares my views and there are several people who are downright terrified of a few syllables here and there, so I know to refrain myself at work, around kids and older people, and the like. There's no need to upset uptight mama's or get fired over a word or two.

Depends on why,when and who is around just like with men. Situation and those that hear it makes a huge difference because tempering what you say around those that it may offend is respectful.

In bed however

Not a fan. Being emotionally overwhelmed and having a swear word come out is one thing (Lord knows I'm guilty), having swear words as a cornerstone of one's vocab is another.

Sometimes my mouth can be very nasty and sometimes not so much. I think anything in excess is a turn off and sometimes unnecessary. You don't need to consistently use foul language to get your point across. I can curse you out without a lick of foul language so... but to each its own.

Stymie, I can say that if you didn't swear, you'd be someone else and that someone I don't think I'd enjoy spending time with. You are who you are and how you talk is a part of it. Swearing like a child is fun when you're a child but as adults, the words are mostly used as adjectives to make a point.

and whether being a girl or not makes a difference, file that under hypocrites.

I rarely swear....I'll say crap, bloody ...bugger etc ....I think it sounds tacky and cheap when women use the f word ...especially if its excessive use
