A huge turnoff. I think it's gross as hell. It's funny when it comes to girls who are just 'one of the guys'. But definately makes them very unfuckable. I'm totally all for equal rights, women's lib, etc. etc.. But when it comes to what I find personally attractive, I prefer a nice, quiet, polite girl. And when a woman takes pride in NOT being able to cook, or not liking kids, I think they might as well be space aliens in my eyes. Again, this has nothing to do with whether I think they 'should' be this or that. But has everything to do with whether I find them attractive or not. VILE... Some of my best female friends curse ALOT so as stated I'm not saying women should be this or that way at all. It's just a terribly unattractive trait to find in a potential mate.

Some guys dig me because they see me as one of the guys but as I mature/get older, I am starting to wonder if the sex talk and cursing is an issue for guys. Sexually, I am into things that women just don't talk about but I do. I guess I'm asking if I should be more "lady-like" whatever the fuck that means. See, I'm trying my best these days to get away from arbitrary rules of "should/should not" (because it's all manipulation, really) and focus on "I like/I don't like" or "this works for me/this doesn't work for me". Not sure if that helps you out much, but decide what works/ what you like and try your best to make it happen.

Then a workable compromise may be what's needed, and there's nothing wrong with that as long as no one is trying to manipulate. Good luck. Let me know what I can do to help. BUT....As I get older, it has become a situation where I am thinking of trying to get closer to someone who is not down with the sex talk here. I have to ask myself if I would be willing to give that up. Believe it or not, I have an Org reputation. Some people think I have sex like all the time.
Gotcha. Then a workable compromise may be what's needed, and there's nothing wrong with that as long as no one is trying to manipulate. Good luck. Let me know what I can do to help. Wait a sec, it's not so much about a problem with swearing as it's a problem with a chick talking about sex?

I used to work in journalism and politics - which are probably the biggest "blue language" fields you can work in. (Short of...say...being a longshoreman or something. ) Because I worked with so many men (who didn't temper their comments around me), I adopted a "when in Rome" attitude and could launch a string with the best of them.
But that was 20 years ago. I still have my moments...but my Sweetie doesn't particularly like foul language (private dirty talk is another matter)...so I temper it around him...at work...and pretty much anywhere I know it will offend. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

JustErin said: So, is it bad to be a chick that swears or not? It's not just swearing either. It's the sex thing, too. I noticed in another thread, he-who-i-am-not-gonna-mention had a problem with women who give head. I have heard here and with some male friends that they don't dig it or at least don't dig when women talk about it in mixed company. It's a double standard.
I guess the jist of it is: do men want a freak in the bed but a "lady" in the streets?

I guess the jist of it is: do men want a freak in the bed but a "lady" in the streets? ok, now we're really getting into it. The madonna/whore thing. Wanting sweet, polite, typically chaste and feminine women for wives/long term relationships, but sexy dirty slutty girls for casual sex. And never the 'twain shall meet. |

Well, you know the answer to that. Each has their own preference. I like making love, and I like treating the woman with respect, and I feel that it's disrespectful, or degrading to use this kind of language in bed. But I'm sure in some cases/moods it can be a turn on. I can see myself using it. It would make me laugh and feel weird.

I don't like it in bed, for the rest they can say whatever the fuck they want!

my language has gotten much more saltier in recent years... so, it's a bad thing? that seems to be the consensus.
