Guys, how do you feel about women with potty mouths? Are women who swear or talk dirty a turnoff?

Ex-Moderator | Can't say for men, but I can say that excessive swearing by either gender in casual conversation does bother me to some extent. Especially in public.
Dirty talk between consenting adults in private is another matter. |

Honestly?
A huge turnoff. I think it's gross as hell. It's funny when it comes to girls who are just 'one of the guys'. But definately makes them very unfuckable. I'm totally all for equal rights, women's lib, etc. etc.. But when it comes to what I find personally attractive, I prefer a nice, quiet, polite girl. And when a woman takes pride in NOT being able to cook, or not liking kids, I think they might as well be space aliens in my eyes. Again, this has nothing to do with whether I think they 'should' be this or that. But has everything to do with whether I find them attractive or not.

The older I get the less I like it. I'm probably a day or two away from not wanting to hear it at all.

I have a double standard, cause I don't expect my friends to NOT curse when they're male--it's almost like a brotherhood of the miserable. But , for men, if I figure out that they're vocabulary doesn't extend much past cursing, then it grosses me out too. For example, if a man could say "I'm quite enamoured by her" but keeps saying some lame line like "she's a fucking hot bitch." over and over.... that gets old. oh, and I also hate guys who call girls bitches, especially if they're referring to them casually as bitches. I mean, please! . [Edited 4/16/08 13:11pm]

Some guys dig me because they see me as one of the guys but as I mature/get older, I am starting to wonder if the sex talk and cursing is an issue for guys. Sexually, I am into things that women just don't talk about but I do. I guess I'm asking if I should be more "lady-like" whatever the fuck that means.

Think about it this way. What if Casey Spooner cursed like a sailor? He wouldn't be the sex symbol he is now.

I hate hearing excessive profanity from anyone
I never used to swear, until recently, and even now I feel kinda funny doing it most times If you will, so will I

Don't like it. Not in women or men, not in casual conversation or sex. I just think it shows disrespect.
That said, some people grew up in such environments and it feels natural to them and inseparable part of their language. I don't go telling people not to use it. I accept everyone the way they are. If something bothers me, I tend to keep a distance.

Not sure if that helps you out much, but decide what works/ what you like and try your best to make it happen.
