This is such a dumb story.
The construction worker was dumb to put the shirt in the cement. He was dumb to blab to people that it was in there before the stadium was finished. The Yankees organization was dumb to spend five hours digging it out. But I can understand why they did it. Fans are so superstitious that any failure by the Yanks in their new stadium would have been blamed on that dumb shirt. I would have left it in there. The Bosox's David Ortiz (it was his shirt) was in the worst slump of his career. Obviously the curse had a reverse effect and being buried in the new Yankee Stadium was causing his horrible slump. In the first game he plays after the shirt was removed, he goes 2 for 5.

Wang threw a complete game two hitter on Friday, but the Bosox won the next two games. There were questionable managerial moves by Girardi in both of those losses that I think affected the outcome. grammar [Edited 4/15/08 16:08pm]
