In fact, Serrano was injecting industrial, low-grade silicone similar to what's used to lubricate auto parts in Argentina into the faces of these women. Several women, including Shawn King, Larry's wife, and Diane Richie, Lionel's wife at the time, held injection parties in their homes, with Serrano needling them with the non-FDA approved drug that he had smuggled in to the U.S. Shawn King has said the injections created a lump in her lip that made it difficult to speak and drink liquids. Serrano charged between $300 and $500 a pop.

But wait, it gets worse. Serrano wasn't even a licensed doc in the U.S. The injections caused lumps, paralysis and holes in the faces of some of the women (and some men) he injected.

Serrano, who was nicknamed Dr. Jiffy Lube, was indicted by the Feds for smuggling drugs, and the conspiracy and use of unapproved drugs. He was convicted, and last week he was released and is currently being investigated by federal immigration officials and could be deported.

BTW, Diane Richie was also indicted as an accomplice. She pled out and was placed on probation.

As for Priscilla -- who had no idea she was being injected with silicone -- we're told she's undergoing corrective work.

I'm sorry but that's what they get for going to a fucking cosmetic surgery party at someone's house! They all have money, there is no reason why they can't go to a credible doctor.

It's not tupper ware or pampered chef...it's your face!!!!

It's not rocket science to know you need to research this shit and go to someone credible.

I agree you do have to do thorough research. However, many doctors are NOT board certified for surgeries/procedures they are perfectly capable of doing. That doctor was not some quack doing stuff in people's living rooms. He's been practicing for over 20 years and there were only a few (maybe 4 or 5) complaints against him. That's not a bad average for someone whose performed thousands of procedures. Besides in today's litigious society you also have to consider that some people like to sue and try to get paid at every opportunity.

Kanye's mother wouldn't have died if she had listened to the FIRST doctor she went to who refused to perform the procedures AND if she had fully disclosed her medical issues/history to Dr. Jan in their consultation which apparently she didn't do. If you don't tell the doctor what's wrong with you physically how is he supposed to know?

Oh, I can believe it happened in Miami . I lived there for over a decade and every almost month they used to show police busts on the news taking down fraudent doctors, folks performing plastic surgeries in garages. My best girlfriend at that time was Brazilian, and one day even she casually mentioned to me that her very adorable, sweet mother, who we all lovingly knew as a cosmetic dentist, had in fact not even finished school:shocked:, she still had a year or 2 to go or something like that! When I asked her why/how she was still practising dentistry my friend looked at me like I was the one who lost MY mind, and replied,

"...but she would have to spend TWO WHOLE YEARS in school for that ..."

I cannot tell you how relieved I am that I never went to her with a dental problem, I don't care HOW competent she was

Yup, the more I think about how obsessed people are with youth and beauty in Miami, I can only imagine how many folks were having Botox parties left and right. When they showed one the show on the first season of NipTuck, I was thinking "DAY-UM, they totally have the Miami scene DOWN PAT". Believe me, those people are crazy as hell, they'll do ANYTHING to get in on the latest plastic surgery trends. "Doctors" and patients alike
