Definitely. Here's some other good advice: Sometimes people let the same problem make them miserable for years when they could just say, "So what." That's one of my favourite things to say. "So what."
"My mother didn't love me." So what. "My husband won't ball me." So what. "I'm a success but I'm still alone." So what. I don’t know how I made it through so many years before I learned how to do that trick. It took a long time for me to learn it, but once you do, you never forget. - Andy Warhol (The Philosophy of Andy Warhol: From A to B and Back Again)

If I have to deal with my employer jerking around this kid I took to the emergency room last week for ONE MORE DAY I'm going to fucking explode. "Half of what I say is meaningless; but I say it so that the other half may reach you." - Kahlil Gibran

When I am having a super bad day or week...I pop open a bottle of wine, light some candles and take a nice bubble bath. Proud Memaw to Seyhan Olivia Christine ,Zoey Cirilo Jaylee & Ellie Abigail Lillian

well, i'm back..
i went for bubble tea with a friend and that helped temporarily.. so did radiohead... but alas... as i approached my stop on the bus i started to cry... and walked around in the quarry for a bit to settle myself... i think i'm going to go cry a bit more - i don't think it's all out of my system yet. thanks for all the suggestions though. Ive always been intersted in starting a small social group for folks who have bad days and just need to vent with others who feel the same. It would be so powerful to be in the presence of all that negative energy and potentially turn it into positive.
Imago therapy often teaches that you shouldn't strive to always be good an happy--but whole. And being whole means to occasionally be angry, hurt, sad, and "heavy". But to understand where that energy is coming from, what it teaches you, and how to live through the experience learning something and becoming stronger. It's impossible for most of us to be "good" anyways. Also, crying is great. I had a very good cry in late Feb that was so fucking overdue.

Sometimes I'll watch a sad movie or read a book or listen to music I know will make me cry. It let's me get it out without focusing on whatever it is that's pissing me off. Then a long sleep and I'm usually better in the morning. |

crying is exhausting
but man, paired with incense, it can really cleanse your energy field... my tarot card for the day: The Hermit The Hermit represents the need to distance yourself from the people and events in your life that are causing undue strain on your emotions. There are times in your life when seclusion and isolation are warranted. The Hermit is a card of discovery and enlightenment, which can only develop by spending time alone with your thoughts. Your energy will be depleted quickly in social situations. who knew... i do feel a bit lighter, and i had a real deep chat with an old friend of mine... we've set aside our differences too, and i think he and i are on the right track again.. ...and i'm buying radiohead tickets on saturday. thanks everyone again... i always feel lame-sauce for posting my emotions... i feel so emo for it... but im always writing out my thoughts - just i feel people needed to see them this time... I have a fucking long, drawn-out wank. I exercise (MASSIVE stress relief) Shower lots to relax Drink a lot of tea Eat my favourite foods MAKE myself go out with friends. I do all of that except the exercise. But then again, like Sammi, I gotta go through the depth to feel better. I need to cry, feel sorry for myself a bit and then realise how ridiculous I am. I even understand the need for the self-pity. But I gotta snap out of it too. Sometimes it lasts a moment, other times weeks. After my mother passed away I am even more susceptible to moodswings. But I find that often the smallest moments of joy can lift the veil. I found a smallish trigger to get rid off my sadness when it comes to my mom, though. My sister had 6 year old twins she had to explain their grandmom had passed away. She told them she was in heaven, after which one of the twins then said; she is the brightest star of all! And who can mess with that. So often when I feel sad at night, and the stars are out, I look up, search the brightest star and say 'Hi Mom!' and damn; that helps! When I just feel sorry for myself for the feeling sorry, I just go out for hikes, mostly. Or bicicle around; not so much fun hiking here in Amsterdam as it was in the village I come from, which is surrounded by meadows, forest and wuthering heights, but without the heights. So I suppose I exercise after all, dayum.
