I've also noticed the most homophobic men with stories of "He was once in the restroom at the same time as I was, and I swear to you dude, he was looking at my package" type stories are guys most women wouldn't fuck, let alone a gay man who could walk into any gay bar and find guys exponentially better looking to 'ogle" lol

Again, why would a gay man risk his life over some dude with a cheap ass haircut, and dark brown loafers with white socks? Hell. no.

lol

(again, I'm stereotyping and not picking on anyone on this thread in particular).

Your sig lol touched redface

i think a straight woman would have a better response from telling some touchy-feely gay guy to knock it off, than a gay guy would have in merely buying another guy a drink in a straight bar.

i'm just sayin'. shrug

So because I'm a woman and the gay man isn't afraid I will kick his ass, he can put his hands up my skirt or touch me inappropriately. Hmmm. I guess next time it happens I will just give him a good hard kick in the balls. Yep. That's what I'm gonna do!

if you read the words in the sentence i posted, you'll see that's not my point at all. i think you pretty much have your mind made up about the way the world is, though, and that's cool. shrug

i know this is a thread for the hetras, but you manly men imagine this scenario:

you're in a bar with your girlfriend and your buddies, minding your own business, having a good time - the music's not bad, so you might even be dancing a bit....then all of a sudden, the door swings open and a gaggle of gay men come in and decide that you and your boys are their personal chew toys and they start molesting you on the dance floor and making rude comments and basically turning your local hangout into their personal terror pit.

this happens all the time in gay bars when they get attacked by bachelorette parties. they think it's "cool" to bombard gay bars because they think they can feel up all the men they want without us doing anything to them in return, plus - you know - we homos won't be offended, since it's all in good fun.

i guess what i'm trying to say is, hetras aren't the only ones who have to deal with unwanted advances from genders we are not attracted to. confused

I was just thinking how much you aggravate me sometimes. And then realized it was silly because most of the time we just misunderstand each other.

Not really.

Of course "straight bars" exist. Bars where heterosexuality is assumed and expected, otherwise known as mainstream culture. Does that mean the clientele is exclusively straight? No. But it does mean that it is not automatically a safe and comfortable environment for queerfolk.

Sorry, Carrie, but in the majority of establishments you can express your sexuality without fear of retaliation. Gay people (and gay MEN in particular) don't have that luxury. So if it gets a little, um, intense for you when you choose to venture into the few areas where that expression is allowed and welcomed...you guessed it...go to a straight bar!

I'm not trying to be mean or sarcastic here. I just see a lack of perspective. Did you ever think that maybe, just maybe, some of the dudes at the gay bars you waltz into want you to feel uncomfortable and leave? shrug
