I saw the mom of one of these thugs being interviewed by Matt Lauer this morning. After that interview, I understand why her daughter's the was she is. Just one excuse after another.

I just watched this video on another website...at least part of it. And that was horrible! I just don't understand why kids act that way. The parents of the kids that did the beating..they themselves should be punished as well! It was so wrong to do that to her! It makes me very sick to my stomach...even more so when I read that some of the girls were joking..asking if she would make it to cheer practice the next day!

At first I wondered whether this was hazing that got out of control, but from what I've heard these kids were just acting like a bunch of thugs. They deserve to go to jail. There was a similar incident a few years ago in the wealthy suburbs of Chicago that involved hazing where the senior and junior cheerleaders kicked and punched the freshmen and sophomore cheerleaders and poured and dumped food all over them, and all of that was videotaped as well. (This was just before YouTube). This video got leaked out on the internet, and the authorities wanted to have all of the perpetrators expelled from school and sent to a juvenile facility, but the outcry from the parents of the perpetrators got them suspensions and community service instead.
