cool Is there a storyline you'd recommend for Silver Surfer? During my time reading comics, I never did read the Silver Surfer... but I was always fascinated by the whole mythology... galactus, heralds, celestials, cosmic cubes...

what happened to Quasar?

Quasar died in Marvel's Annihilation crossover story a year or two ago. Mar-Vell's daughter Phyla wears the quantum bands now and is the new Quasar.

I like talking with Comic Book Headz because I was somewhat a fan but not a true fan, so all this extra-added info is off the charts! Thanks to all that supplied it.

Also, on a car ride from Dallas to Houston, a buddy of mine ranted and raved about the Infinity Gauntlet. This was about 8 years ago and I've forgotten a lot of it, so hopefully someone can fill me back in on that.

And the Celestials? The same buddy told me they were the most owerful characters of all, more powerful than The Watcher. Is that true? They slept in mountains, right?

I think only one of the Celestials actually sleeps in a mountain range somewhere. That might have been in the Eternals limited series from a few years ago. I remember at the time that it was a very good read, written by Neil Gaiman. Now collected in trade paperback:

As far as I can tell, Eternity is the cosmos so you can't get more powerful than that. The Living Tribunal is just another cosmic deity. Bigger than Galactus, but not as big as the Celestials.

Oh yeah. Proud owner of a Silver Surfer #4 the original series. Love that stuff. the New Gods, Captain Marvel (not Shazam!), all that stuff.

See, I love the original Captain Marvel. A little kid who transforms into "The World's Mightiest Mortal" is about as good a superhero concept as it gets. He was once the most popular character in all of comics, but now DC has let him flounder for years and Marvel keeps clinging to the name copyright for no real reason. disbelief

Billy Batson deserves better. sad

Oh don't get me wrong, i love Shazam! too. Different vibe, though. they've been doing some amazing things with those characters recently, specifically what they've done with Mary Marvel in the "Countdown To Final Crisis" series. Check out "the Trials of Shazam" too.

As far as the Surfer's concerned, they relaunched the series a few years ago and i wasn't that impressed. i'd recommend getting any of the trade paperbacks from the 70's series.

I would love to get a copy of this framed on my wall, even though many, many months ago, I took down all of the childish/garrish comic book and music crap off my wall.

What do you want to bet they put this out in a very limited print, and it ends up going for thousands on eBay within months. confused

I'll keep my fingers crossed you'l get it. I really like it and I am sure it would look amazing on your wall framed.

If you just have ONE childish/garrish comic book and music crap thingie on your wall, this is it. One white wall with that on it would just look fucking awesome.

it's possible that i may finally the the "one red wall" that i've always wanted, and this will go on the one opposite it. nod

thanks for keeping your fingers crossed. i hope they don't get stuck that way.

Red wall? Kewl. Works best in sunny, light rooms. I used to have an orange wall in between white walls. When the sun hit it, it lit up the room.

That's what I'm hoping for. I've always wanted red walls in one room. I think I've been talked into just doing one, and having the rest white. I'm not really sure what being surrounded by red all the time would do for my psyche.

Anyways. My previous house had three big spaces, all white walles except one; livingroom (orange wall), kitchen (green wall) and bedroom (blue wall)

I didn't know all that! I think I only have one book with the Tribunal in it. It was an issue of What If? where he sealed off that issue's reality from the others because the cosmic villain Korvac was getting too powerful.
