I think Martha Stewart is a crook and should still be in jail. I wish I would buy one of her damned pink striped sheets. I do think an example was made of Vick. I do not get that it is ok to go out with a bunch of drunk friends with guns and shoot whatever runs past you just to take a pic with it, and yet go to jail for dog-fighting.

Cruel and inhumane and completely unnecessary treatment of any living thing is wrong. That goes for dog fighting, sport hunting, inhumane slaughter houses, Africans in the diamond trade, all the shit you guys touched on in this thread and tons more. It's all unacceptable and it all needs to be challenged.

Don't shit on one person who chooses to voice their anger about one thing and say they don't care about other issues...and you don't dismiss one because somewhere, somewhere else you feel something worse is happening. It all should be addressed and an outcry for all of it should be heard nice and loud.

As for this dude. I don't give a shit what he's doing in jail or what he does when he gets out...just as long as he doesn't break the law again, I don't care what he does.

But even if I did, animals eat other animals. There is nothing wrong with that. The issue of meat eating has nothing to do with unnecessary cruelty and inhumane treatment. Torturing an animal, making it suffer and suffer, killing for sport, etc is not the same as killing an animal quickly to use it as a source of nourishment.

But hey, many people use the whole "you eat animals" argument to try and justify the abuse of animals all the time. It's because they have no idea what else to say and they are grasping at straws. That argument really holds no validity at all.

And, in fact, when people use the defense that animals in slaughter houses are treated poorly it just solidifies everything that I said...that changes need to be made and we all need to start addressing all of it...now.
