I prefer baking, but I can cook. I have something of a sweet tooth. And let me just say that banana nut pancakes with peanut butter are fantastic! woot!

When baking I always follow the recipe. Baking is a science.
When cooking, I tend to doctor things up my own way if I'm trying a new recipe or not. I'll add things I think sound good, or play with the amounts of seasonings to suit my own tastes.

I'm like that too. With cooking, there's almost always a way to fix what you fucked up. With baking, not so much.

Last night we had salmon fillets topped with sundried tomato pesto, lentils simmered in white wine with shallots, sauteed ginger spinach, and balsamic carrot salad with fresh mint & parsley. All of that was kinda just thrown together off the top of my head, no recipes. I always cook like that.

I can bake simple cakes without instructions (without really measuring either, which is a bad thing because I never know what to put when I want to give someone a recipe). But for more complicated desserts with varying textures, like tiramisu for example, I go straight to the recipe file or THE BOX lol

This weekend I bought a bag of apples and will bake an apple cake, but that's one of those I can kinda just throw together without really looking... so it should be okay...I hope confuse smile
