"my name is... princha? prinsa? prince???? I forget what a few of the letters are"

Yes, Russian grammar has cases, so you decline proper names too. So:

I'm thinking about Prince - ia dumaiu o Printse
I see Prince - ia vizhu Printsa
I'm chatting with Prince - ia razgavarivaiu s Printsom
I give Prince a song - ia podariu Printsu pesniu
I'm invited to Prince's party - menia priglasili na vecherinku Printsa

and I'm fantasizing goes like this: ia fantaziruiu !smile...

I thought Flemish was to Dutch what American English is to British English - differing only in accent, pronunciation and idioms/expressions, but the language is essentially the same and people understand each other.
But anyway, it's all clear now!

you're kinda right on that.....flemish is basically a purer form of dutch, or more old-fashioned if you will.....therefore it sometimes sounds a bit funny to the ears of a dutch person since the flemish can come up with funny sentence-structures. The accent is softer & slower than typical dutch.....we, the Dutch, are loudmouths & know-it-alls.....we tend to make fun about the Flemish. wink But if you take a look at it, their use of language is actually much nicer than ours....

Actually I thought it was the other way round, that Dutch was the 'original' language and that Flemish was somehow 'derived' from it. The things they teach you at school... But anyway, thanks for the info, at least now I know.

Btw, despite my posting some Russian lines here and commenting on Dutch/Flemish, my mother tongue is French.
I hope I'm not giving anybody here a headache:)

true, Dutch is the original.....Flemish is officially NOT a language. What I'm saying is that the Flemish are using the Dutch language in a more old-fashioned way, whereas the Dutch are using it more 'economically' with international influences.....hard to explain! lol

No headache here!
