Saying I dug it would be an understatement. It's up there with Spider Man 2 as the best Marvel comics film ever done I think. The only part that made me wince a little was the dialogue in the final fight scene which gave me flashbacks to the Transformers movie. barf

You mean the recent TF movie, not the excellent original animated one from '86, right?

Yes, I meant the 2007 movie. I never saw the animated film. The Transformers cartoons were after my time so I never got into them at all.

he movhd a lot of bullshit moments for me: Gwenyth Paltrow's whole part, the way they tried to make the terrorists look like idiots, the ending. I went in with no expectations and was disappointed.

Yes, I'm happy with the ending. I'm glad it wasn't dragged out. Most people I know liked the movie so you and Ivy are in the minority.

Yeah and I'm okay with that. I'm glad people dug it and I hope it leads to more opportunties for RDJ.

I think it's his first blockbuster movie.

I had dinner with Anx last night and I asked him about taking you to see The Cleaner and Drawing Restraint. razz It's a good thing he didn't take you to see this movie too.

I think there was more pressure in their generation though, to get married, get kids, house etc at an early age. We have "choices"

confused

damned if we do, damned if we don't! lol

I feel that way sometimes, but my parents were also far less happy.

THIS IS THE FILM OF THE SUMMER.

"Speed Racer" earned less than $6M on its opening day. That figure doesn't necessarily bode well for future earnings.

I saw it this weekend.

It was fun, and Robert Downy Junior was perfect for the role.

Though I don't think it was uber great or anything. The 'conversion' of Robert Downy Jr's character into a renegade altruistic vigilante was abrupt--albeit not as abrupt as Aneken Skywalker going from cocky Padawan to chopping off Mace Windu's hands to slaughtering children in a span of 30 minutes lol

Overall, it was a fun movie. Not my type of film, but fun.

I probably wouldn't have sought it out on my own but a friend asked me & I thought, "why not?" smile I like Downey & Terrence Howard (though his performance was fucking cardboard!!). I typically don't dabble in action unless it's some crazy nuts event like Jurassic Park, but this was cool nod

Only $20 million US for the entire weekend for Speed Racer. The bad reviews didn't help, I'm sure. This looks like a big flop.

You liked it! woot!

Yes, it won't win any acting or writing awards, but as superhero movies go, it was one of the best I've seen.
