Amazing, but sadly it's probably been trained to the brink of madness to do that.

nod

When we were in Phuket we saw an amazing monkey sanctuary doing brilliant work, then just down the road the decrepit zoo was doing shows with elephants painting and playing football, monkeys riding bicycles in skirts, and you could have your picture taken next to a drugged up tiger chained to a fence. shrug

He'd probably do alright for himself as one of those I'll-sketch-your-portrait guys in a tourist area, but his "serious" work is quite obviously jejune.

my friend told me about this over the weekend but I thought he was talkin about a cartoon of an elephant painting itself so to see this is a surprise. I am truely amazed and I wonder if his other elephant buddies have the same talent.

OMG CRYING! bawl That is absolutely astounding. The Elephant is my most favorite animal! mushy And to think of how savagely they are treated in Africa all because of ignorance and greed sigh I know elephants are very smart but this really implies knowledge of itself doesn't it? Wow!

It implies being trained to the point of having it's spirit broken to me. This is not an animal expressing itself...have you seen how they break elephants so that they will be mindless slaves? It's beyond cruel.

Ugh. I feel ill now.

I don't think people know just how smart elephants are yet.

It hurts me to see the more intelligent creatures like them or chimps in zoos or circuses.

I have seen elephants mistreated yes, and I would not know whether or not to assign brutality to the establishment this elephant lives at to say yay or nay. I wasn't sure if it was trained or not but still it is amazing.
