Rare monkey born in So. California zoo http://abclocal.go.com/ka...id=6058075
SANTA ANA, Calif., April 2 (UPI) -- The number of rare crested capuchin monkeys in the United States increased by one with a birth at the Santa Ana Zoo in Southern California. The newborn, whose sex is still unknown, is the child of Romeo and Juliet, a pair on loan from the government of Brazil, the Orange County Register reported. The birth is believed to be the first in the species in the United States. Crested capuchins, which live in isolated groups in the South American rain forest, are classified as vulnerable, meaning that they are in danger of extinction. Their habitat is disappearing and experts say only 10,000 monkeys may still survive. It is believed there are 11 in U.S. zoos. The new capuchin arrived sometime during the night of March 25. Keepers at the zoo had noticed behavior in Juliet that suggested she was ready to deliver and found her snuggling a cleaned-up newborn when they arrived the next morning. To Sir, with Love

Now that is a great story. I love monkeys.
Will we have a political row when Brazil tries to take a monkey that by law is a US citizen? Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

In the case of Panda bears on loan to zoos in the U.S., any baby pandas born are property of the Chinese.
The zoos and gov't's involved have agreements in place when loans of an animal are arranged. ![]() I'm firmly planted in denial
