What to do when a close friend moves away... I just found out that one of my best friends is moving away at the end of August
He had thrown the idea around a bit, considering San Jose, CA, New Jersey, or going back to the army ...but now he says that he's made up his mind, and he's definitely moving to Honolulu, Hawaii!!! 
I'm so sad, and I don't even know what to do or say to him Who else has had someone close to you move away? How did you cope??  [Edited 4/2/08 13:20pm] If you will, so will I | |

All my close friends have moved away now.
For love. For careers. For dreams, etc. Myspace actually makes it a bit nicer I guess. But you *do* grow a little apart. | |

I was always the friend that moved away but I guess just keep in contact as much as u can. And have a lot of fun together until August gets here. | |

DON'T try to make him feel like shit about it.

This has happened to me 3 times in the same amount of years.
You just deal with it. Keep in touch as much as you can and make new friendships in your area. | |

I'm so sad, and I don't even know what to do or say to him Who else has had someone close to you move away? How did you cope?? Stay in touch and know you've now got one hell of a vacation destination ahead of you!! Whap!
